If you are stuck with Oracle already, migrate to OCI. We will give you some “support rewards” to make you less dissatisfied. It’s almost as good as AWS 😀 plus we will throw in a signed picture of LE on his island. Oracle cloud jail isn’t that bad unless you want to run cool non-Oracle stuff like Snowflake…

it is embarrassing since the Snowflake founders came from Oracle and presented their vision to LE, AM, and CO and were treated disrespectfully. Now they have a $70B valuation and are in almost every large Oracle customer picking off workloads. This is what happens when you treat smart employees disrespectfully. The culture is toxic and only yes people get rewarded. This will be an MBA case study on how incumbents allow innovative start-ups to eat their lunch.
Funny - I left Oracle for Snowflake several years ago, and I can assure you that Snowflake and many other companies ARE truly eating Oracle's lunch. Customers are leaving Oracle in droves.
The pathetic Oracle "Cloud World" event is a joke. Oracle has no market footprint of value in the cloud space at all and never will, yet Larry puts on a Vegas event as if Oracle is THE cloud leader. The rest of the IT world is laughing at Oracle.
No new customer would chose "Autonomous Data Warehouse" over Snowflake for analytics - that is why Snowflake is eating our lunch. We all know it and we don't even pursue new customers which is not a good long term recipe for success.
The only reason why anyone uses Oracle is because they have been customers for longer than a decade. Vendor lock-in is a real disease, because there are definitely better solutions out there, even on the open source end for database.
Gosh, these CTOs and CIOs have been fleeced.
