Hope someone familiar with HR terms can answer.
Since the end date is 01/05/2024, will I get any of new year benefit?
Normally paycheck for 12/18-12/31 will be paid on 01/05/2024, it will contain my 401k contribution and company match plus $250 flat match, will I get those?
Paycheck for 01/01-01/14 will be paid on 01/19/2024, it will contain $1000 company HSA contribution and $550 HSA reward I earned from this year, I only have half of this period employed, will I get any of those?
Assume my vacation day will continue to accumulate till Jan, is that right, or only till Dec? I guess since I can't schedule any day off now, my vacation day will hit max, I will forfeit some anyway.
I believe I have 3 floating holidays this year, haven't used yet, guess next year, it will forfeit, but do I get 2 floating holidays for next year, at least that will be just 1 day short.
(Lesson learned, don't keep too many vacation days before layoff, work hard doesn't make you less likely got the boot)

@uqw+1pmlBeeD maybe don't have a take on HR matters if you don't actually know and just sit this one out. That is how misinformation starts.
that's not accurate, my docs clearly state termination date 1/5.
Not an HR expert - but here is my take on it - Schwab is closing the books on you on 12/31. You are just getting the money on 1/5 - I would not expect anything for 2024 - you are not paid for any time in 2024. All the best.
Since you are technically an employee being compensated as an employee for the 1st 5 days of 2024 and eligable for all benefits as an employee through that time, you should gain and be paid out the floating holidays and the vacation accrual for january (subject to the accrual cap, of course) as well as the HSA contributions. It says you are also bonus plan eligable but it is not really spelled out that the 2023 bonus that normally would be paid in march 2024 will be paid since you won't be technically employed at time of layout. All of these items are worth getting confimed through the HR contact line.
