Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Where is Schwab HR?

It feels like decisions regarding RTO, office closures and layoffs are being made without HR. I watched the HR leader podcast about the new HR a portal that is supposed to be the front door to all HR but there is no information in there about RTO, office closures or the layoffs. Where is HR at Schwab??

The head of HR (Katie Casey) left a Westlake and moved to where there is not office.

Why do we need an HR portal when we have a 1990s sharepoint site with quite possibly the worst communications I’ve ever seen? I swear I get emails from new Schwab email accounts sending me to new pages and sites daily.

Someone told me HR is working remote this week (unconfirmed) - another person told me they were told in a meeting that security and guards are being installed at the centers - didn’t specify dates.

I’m right here doing a final quality check in your severance before we chop you.

"someone other than our dept heads making decisions ..."
except that it is your own manager or MD who flags your profile as expendable.

Thank you for noting BCG will be deciding . Not what we were told. Either way ,someone other than our dept heads making decisions that affect our lives.

@uhm+1nSs0DUy HR does not decide. BCG (Boston Consulting Group) runs the entire layoff operation and determines who to let go. I can tell you from previous layoffs people with tenure and making more money are high layoff targets.

HR isn't involved unless there has been a past performance issue. Once you are terminated you don't deal with Schwab HR they have a completely separate group to address any questions

And HR will be making all the decisions of who will be terminated. Ec makes these directives but HR will make the cut decision. They have no interaction with us, at all, don’t know our quality and quantity of work, but they decide your fate. Meanwhile our stock price keeps drifting downward like a key thrown over a boat. Disgusted with the EC..

You think these decisions are being made without HR? They're being made without anyone below the EC. We're all in the dark.

Probably multiple locations but there is information in myHR regarding workplace flexibility, severance, medical accomdations etc. You have to search for the information.
