Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

My job used to be fun

Mondays are the worst.

I’ve worked a lot before, but I really loved doing my job. It was fun. Now I start working under stress and I finish working under stress. The pressure is incredible. It’s sad to remember how relaxed it used to be, compared to how it is now?

And then one day, we woke up and everyone realized why participation trophies were a bad thing.

Their mission is to make you culminate. As time goes on, they will break you. As someone put it promise you the moon and pull the carpet out from under you for their benefit.

When State Farm leadership quits "getting off on" hurting people instead of making them better by working with them their entire career, claims will continue to be a mediocre place to work with increasing incompetence. The leadership should be learning and believing the same style of leadership as Zelensky instead of their fake Disneyland approach.

No, do something to help yourself. Buy yourself something to get through the day.

I do this, and I know it is incredibly hard.

I have been pushing out by H1B visa workers for years. I know many of them are great, but all it takes is one, then you would be forced to find another job.

I don't know where to go.

Government tends to hide the fact that older American analysts and developers are displaced. Because we are all categorized under "professional and business services", that include roofer, landscaper, mechanic, etc. fields in demand.

It’s always funny when you see the analyst in those support jobs, just telling people to leave over and over. We are so happy you never had to answer a phone or help a customer. It’s great your uncle got you a analyst job right of out Illinois State, but even those jobs aren’t safe anymore.

Tick tok, turn over is over 50% in those phones jobs , who is going to answer them ? That pension is going to keep you here, as you get forced into those claim roles. I’m a high performer in claims, I can handle the pressure , not one analyst I’ve met has stayed with the company once they get moved to claims…

Whatever happened to that great high paying union job with no stress and better benefits that you were going to once the bonus was in the bag?

They can't stop the bonus now, take that other job!
