Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Admin restructure

More admin jobs going to GbS. They can’t keep the us admins on payroll. Goal is to eliminate all. Payroll is in the works. 2 roles leaving US in upcoming months. Expect cuts in the group.

@11wrh+1hEFD3qL I know at Frito they are doing the same thing as Pepsi. Almost all departments are gone. Payroll seems to be on its way out, they just don't know the timing of it all. There are always rumors but no one seems to know anything for sure. Covid set back their timeline of laying off employees

@Xsiu+1hEFD3qL this is pepsi not frito. Customer maintenance went over. AR is transitioning. Part of payroll gone. IT went long ago. Invoice payments are transitioning. All admin jobs are going. Starting to move some M&w over.

@Xsiu+1hEFD3qL what was the position that just finished transitioning?

Well one admin job just finished transitioning to GBS. More to follow. Bill payments will be transitioning from the location to GBS. Don’t need a local person to process payments. Admin and management should see changes soon. Restructuring all the way around.

I wonder if they will wait until after Labor day to announce

No one knows for sure except HR. Rumors are Sept-DEC. it’s going to happen. They moved some work this week offshore. More to follow. Too many admins. They will cut most recently hired and if it was your work that was shipped off shore, it’s your job that was eliminated.

@wjio+1hEFD3qL I wonder if it would be just Kronos payroll or all payroll admins. I have heard some how they plan to automate some of the payroll functions I do now. not sure how they will do that. our managers are becoming admins day by day

@wjio+1hEFD3qL kronos admins/payroll. They are changing the mobile phone process too so probably getting rid of that too. Little by little. We are not an American company. Disgusting

@wjzc+1hEFD3qL. What are KA's?

The KA's are probably still helping out GBS/Mexico until all of the bugs can be worked out. And will stay in place when payroll goes haywire such as a few months back. "One admin per building rule" will then go into effect...from what I can see in the crystal ball. Two admins if you are a production/sales delivery warehouse.

@tuku+1hEFD3qL I am not sure how many departments are left at Frito to lay off. So many departments are GBS/MBS I know payroll is still kicking around helping GBS.

Frito Lay had become a foreign company. They have outsourced nearly everything to other countries. How sad. Herman Lay would be rolling over in his grave if he saw all of this that’s going on.

@ictq+1hEFD3qL. No one will have details of who will be cut. The will be cutting Sept -Dec. they are sending all admin jobs to India and Mexico. The ones low in seniority will be first to go in the office, esp if your work was shipped off shore. There is talk about band level cuts but who knows about that.

@8ejr+1hEFD3qL. August 5 customer maintenance will be At GBS. There is a 2 week pause for new biz uploads, then it is GBS. It has been announced. They will then re-assign the admin work and layoff. I guess payroll will follow. Don’t ki-l yourself for this job.

@6xij+1hEFD3qL what are the 2 roles they are moving to GBS now? They have been training payroll since 2020 and GBS is still terrible at payroll. Their site doesn't work well. It never captures more than 1 attachment at a time.

@qjh+1hEFD3ql and @rrf+1hEFD3ql. They are moving 2 roles to GBS now. They will reassign the work, let a few admin go then move the other roles. They are training payroll now… depends on how long that takes. Could be a year or 2. Problem is you get older and age discrimination is real. If you can find something, get it. 1 admin in small buildings and 2 admins in large buildings is the aim.

@1xbw+1hEFD3qL I have heard this too. 1 admin per building. They have not thought things through. The tickets I create in GBS only come to me. I was on vacation and they suspended my ticket because they didn't know how to do the request. This is impacting an employees pay. They didn't reach out to anyone (my back up) to figure out what to do. Now this person is overpaid, GBS is a flawed system

Keep reading & hearing rumors of 1 admin per building (2 admins if it is a larger facility). The remaining admin will probably do damage control when GBS is can't fix payroll, perform cashiering duties and other miscellaneous duties. They might want to keep a floater admin or two around to backfill vacations, call outs or extended medical leaves. But I'm sure they thought of all this already.
