Out of the ordinary skip level is step 1 in covering bases to remove the skipped level. Usually isn’t about the lower level assoc. It is about “smoothing” the disruption.

@5bai+1pgBKoiE Not necessarily. That’s hard part trying to read between lines. Many without layoff of direct not in mtgs; no impact. Most in mtgs ok, but some not as can’t execute task without layers helping. Weekend Mtgs/PL split across different groups as too many people for 2 or 3 mtgs.. Can’t slot everyone on Monday morning at once.

@5reu+1pgBKoiE So is the assumption “no invite, screwed for sure, has invite, might be screwed” correct?

Keep in mind some of the MD on the various weekend calls will be impacted themselves & don’t know it yet.

Ridiculous that they have kept us in “black ink “dark for this long. I am just a IC, no nda, but heard 10/30 and 10/31 from a reliable ( read mgmt) source. Not here to troll or guess, just wanted to share. I would also like to really thank those who have offered genuine info to help us navigate. This represents the good of schwab culture. I long for the way this once great company was. Peace to all .

@tku+1pgBKoiE Not at all unbelievable. The directors are just as skittish as the rest of the firm and unfortunately some of them demonstrate via aggressive micromanagement. Lately been seeing a rash of unreasonable deadlines and skip level status update meetings that are comical to all but the ones involved.

Is it so hard to believe that they don’t even trust the leaders with the info? Of course it’s close and of course they now know what information they will cover and the rules. I doubt they know anything more than that until day of.

@kro+1pgBKoiE Reminds me of the scene in the Two Towers in which the Ents debated for three days and finally came to the conclusion that the Hobbits weren’t Orca.

@yei+1pgBKoiE if the beans were spilled there would be a lot more chatter about it.

the beans still remain in a can, on the shelf.

I am amazed with the number of people claiming some special meeting today. Absolutely nothing happened and it’s all a troll stroll. MD here and the date is not finalized yet but will happen after nov 1st week.

So to summarize, all they shared was that layoffs would be happening this year, and you just sat there and stared at each other for the remaining 29 minutes of the call?

@wsh+1pgBKoiE Did you guys at least get the layoff training?

Not even training for if employees flip out during layoff? Lame.

so all they said was "layoffs are happening"?

did they clarify why leaders were in the call over others? or say "you will get resources for when it happens"?

from past layoffs this kind of call precedes the actual action fairly quickly. so this week or next could be it...

Once again a useless thread. Trolls and people who say they have info but feel compelled to to take the time and effort to post to say they can't share it. Lame.

If you got info, post it. Put up or shut up.

@iom+1pgBKoiE
Then why invite some PLs and not others?

MD here. No new information at all. All they shared was about upcoming layoffs this year and to be prepared for the same. No date nothing.

@oud+1pgBKoiE Call is setup in such a way that you can’t really see who else is on.

A friend confirmed the call is actually happening right now. They deliver this training when it's imminent, 48hours.
