That guy may have survived grad school, but he is a GE-style cost cutter from the word go. He literally thinks, and has publicly stated in multiple forums, that the path to growth is to literally sell less. The man has no business sense and has been promoted well beyond his ken.
It is a mystery why Hammes is still there. Should have been fired when they brought the new manufacturing chief in to replace him. I guess they only fire low level people and keep failed leaders around forever.
The business needs leaders who knows their products and more importantly their customers. You will eventually fail if so called product managers or portfolio leaders don’t know their products and just look at numbers. SAP type gurus sitting in director positions are leading this company into ruin. forget about customer first or voice of customer. It is nowadays voice of internal sh-t.
Why stop there? Vale and Ashish are technical not business types and are really not well matched to their jobs.
Monish sure is good as a transformation officer. He and Mike have transformed 3m into a shell of its once great self.
