"did he invite any actual american workers, you know the ones that actually built this country"
"Huh, they sure built a lot of roads and buildings 200/300 years ago."

Actually it's you that need a history lesson. The vast majority of homes, schools, commercial buildings and roads were built decades ago (many over 100 years ago). They are MAINTAINED by modern workers.

But getting back to the point, now we know who should be on T's inauguration guest list, according to you are construction workers. That's really funny. You need big ideas and big money to build and run a country. I am not denigrating what construction workers do but they are not the tier of people that move the needle.

I was talking about GM cutting corners, ending up with engine failures.

You say I don't know what I'm talking about and something about not being an adult and stack ranking. None of it makes sense, the insult didn't land and you need to clarify what you are saying. Your move.

You have no damn idea what you’re talking about. I mean are you even an adult? lol Not going to get into the details on here because it’s a public forum but ge-z maybe you should be let go with the stacked ranking.

"did he invite any actual american workers, you know the ones that actually built this country"

The American workers that built this country died hundreds of years ago.
Or do you mean modern construction workers? Or the American workers who assemble cars with Chinese parts? Or the countless overweight office workers who complain on message boards? Those people?

I feels like we are reliving Oliver Twist:

'Please, sir, I want some more.'

The master was a fat, healthy man; but he turned very pale. He gazed in stupified astonishment on the small rebel for some seconds, and then clung for support to the copper. The assistants were paralysed with wonder; the boys with fear.

'What!' said the master at length, in a faint voice.

'Please, sir,' replied Oliver, 'I want some more.'

The master aimed a blow at Oliver's head with the ladle; pinioned him in his arm; and shrieked aloud for the beadle.

The board were sitting in solemn conclave, when Mr Bumble rushed into the room in great excitement, and addressing the gentleman in the high chair, said,

'Mr Limbkins, I beg your pardon, sir! Oliver Twist has asked for more!'

There was a general start. Horror was depicted on every countenance.

'For MORE!' said Mr Limbkins. 'Compose yourself, Bumble, and answer me distinctly. Do I understand that he asked for more, after he had eaten the supper allotted by the dietary?'

'He did, sir,' replied Bumble.

'That boy will be hung,' said the gentleman in the white waistcoat. 'I know that boy will be hung.'

Musk, Zuck, Bezos, and all the usual billionaires will be at the inauguration.

Along with the vice premier of China.

At least he knew who he was working for when he made the guest list

Can GM cut it's way out of a 870,000 SUV & pickup recall?

"NHTSA claims owners are complaining of engine failure in newer Silverado, Tahoe, and Yukon full-size trucks equipped with the L87 V8 engine."

There's a bearing failure. I wonder... who made the bearings? What engineer signed off on the supplier's quality? Did someone SAVE MONEY with some kind of corner cut?
How many licks does it take to get the to the center of a Tootsie Pop's center?

And for all the SLT keeps trying to squeeze out of folks IMO its getting to the point people are better off putting in the hours to try and run their own businesses. With such little job security at GM and high workload folks may find the main road block from doing their own gig is their self confidence. If this sh-t keeps up will very likely go down that path.

I described to a youngling the other day of what the work environment used to be like. Challenging but in a fun way. There was time to think, time to be creative and innovate, time to bond and mentor, time to eat lunch without the risk of choking, time to recover from your (or someone else’s) mistakes. The list goes on and on - the things that humans need from each other and from the world surrounding them. Anyone that thinks they don’t need these things is either a lonely cynic or is on the path to becoming one. Work hard if for no other reason than to not make your coworkers miserable - they deserve your best effort even if the SLT doesn’t. F the metrics. Remember when the next bankruptcy hits that it’s not your fault you didn’t figure out how to cut $0.13 from piece cost without making the vehicle a total pile of garbage.

Guess it depends on how long you’ve worked there.

It used to be if folks were going to be let go they’d be notified well ahead of time so they could have plenty of time to find a replacement job while still employed. Not now. They just send you a termination email.

The rating system used to be a lot more transparent and bosses would just tell you if you needed to change something. Now it’s all about documentation, competing against our own coworkers and uncertainty with where we stand.

Departments used to have more of a budget for picnics, team outings or parties. Not so much any more.

Timing on programs is more aggressive and we have fewer people to execute.

We used to have cubicles and some personal space to work in and concentrate. Now we’re just pi look ed in a germ infested open area.

So yeah the work environment used to be a heck of a lot better.

Do you think GM has EVER treated employees well?

There just aren't really any better choices in Michigan.

They know who the next president is and don't want to end up on his enemies list.

That's why they each gave him a million dollars.

They also know he'll start his rule with a great economy, like he did the first time, but he'll crash it through incompetence and corruption.

The SVP of HR came from the left coast and other Tech companies. Imo she brought their way of treating employees with her.

Here's what Mark Z. and Mary B. know: Americans are broke. Credit is maxed out. Interest rates and inflation are high and rising higher. The relative value of the dollar is declining fast. They know that the good times are soon to be over and are getting their corporations ready. It's that simple. If that bothers you, go work somewhere else.

Mary doesn't owe you a living.

GM just copies what other big companies do.

They don't have original ideas.
