Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

We need more staff

They don't see that SF under urgently needs more people??? I am almost certain that the company will very quickly lose a lot of people, whom they probably do not want to lose, if they do not address the problem of understaffing. I'm on the verge of quitting next week because I don't want to do this much work anymore. It’s a job for several people.

easy solution to the budget issue: cut 50% of the useless TM's and managers. No executive bonuses until both employee and customer satisfaction is above 90%. Bet this issue would be over tomorrow if that was the case.

In my huddle in injury today, we were told claims as a whole is hiring 3,800 by the end of the year. Currently at 90% of the hiring goal. My demand pool isn't going to get much help because we aren't drowning...

their excuse

cant hire people because dont have the budget thus they keep using mandatory OT to do more work which consumes budget thus they cant hire people because they have no budget

in reality SF earned 2 Billion on 2020 and should be able to hire people but choose NOT to
its to the point they are using Externals which costs money! and still its not enough to keep up with the work...

Theyve been under staffed at increasing amounts consistently since like 2015. its getting worse not better no matter what they are actually doing. Employee satisfaction and quality work are of no consideration.

Whoa hold up there buddy, if we hire more people, it raises our "costs" and then the VP's on up wont get as large of a bonus....wouldn't doing triple the work for same pay be more reasonable?

I would have thought they learned the lesson from what happened back in like 2018 when we were severely understaffed. They were trying everything like endless mandatory OT and asking for solutions that “don’t involve hiring more employees”. It’s nuts that this kind of staffing problem could happen again, but here we are.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and with current employees morale in the toilet I doubt if people will be lining up to work here. I’m out of here the first chance I get and I have been here 30 years.

Oh do I remember adjusting claims in Silicon Valley during the .com bo-m. They couldn't keep anyone past claims school because they found new opportunity elsewhere for less stress and more pay. It appears history is repeating itself. They will work you until you die of a heart attack, stroke, or whatever the case maybe. It is their mission. Just think, they are getting a 3 for 1. The kids of today see through it. If you think high turnover now and more work, wait another year when they come out with new plans to line their pocket. They know what they are doing. Let them do it! The numbers they are targeting will not get the results they want. Time is on your side, not theirs.
