Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Leadership at the top no longer exists in S&T

There were a few guys in S&T that understood the scope of the project and the ins and outs. We could call them and they were knowledgeable and figured out solutions. Not anymore. They all packed up and left in April(some voluntarily, some forced out). Thanks to G-yatri, there’s no one left that can put out the dumpster fire she started! She certainly can’t do it! She’s in way over her head and instead of owning that truth, she’s blaming everyone else.
S&T is totally F….. and she is to blame.

Will Athina correct her colossal mistake of hiring G-yatri or will she ride her paychecks until they clean house at the top and both her and G-yatri are walking out with their cardboard boxes?
Perhaps she’s waiting on AI to swoop in and save the day.

Clueless?? Oh joy, let's celebrate the most efficient and streamlined process ever created! The Business tosses their requirements into the void, hoping S&T capabilities will magically understand them. Then, like a hot potato, it gets passed to S&T Digital Products, who will undoubtedly interpret it in a completely different way. Next, S&T Technical Data Product gets to decipher the mess, before handing it off to S&T Data Engineering (or the new name D&AI, because who doesn't love a good rebranding?). And let's not forget the PMOs, Value Management, Agile release, and DevOps board, all playing a game of million people on calls to ensure that nothing gets lost in translation (wink, wink). It's not a wonder that nothing gets done at all!

People who show fake numbers don’t know how to use real numbers

That’s been AK’s modus operandi. She has never successfully delivered anything but she will get into anything that’s promising to be a success and bring it under S&T umbrella claiming S&T delivered it

Ohh God, I just thought I am the only one who is feeling all this BS. Also DPS tried to get our team and they didn't, now they are slowing taking away everyone, we are team of 10 down to 4 people now. They are poaching the shinny and successful projects under there belt. If they say NO all the billing will be stopped by AK. They are literally bullying every team in the org and throwing tantrums if they are not getting what they want.

Things ain’t gonna improve. The AI queen and Product queen have played their cards well. Sane leaders have either quit on their own or made to leave the company

I can't get enough of these hilarious S&T meetings between DPA, TDPM, and Data Foundation. It's like a never-ending circus act, with everyone passing the buck and dodging responsibility. Who needs clarity and progress when there is fun in chaos all around. And as a junior while I thought I will learn, with each passing day I’m here for the entertainment value, watching the goalposts move further away enjoying with my popcorn

Honestly, so many of the IT teams there are terrible. We hire Indian leadership into a VP or Sr Director position and suddenly a year later every down chain leader is an Indian who used to work with that senior leader somewhere else, or who goes to the same church. And the leadership simply fails. It dreams up ridiculous convoluted plans whose only goal is attempting to make a big enough splash to get promoted to the next level but never leaves any lasting impact:

@3gqv+1sXMXPRY no promotion bit if you folks are so miserable, why stay?

@3ylo+1sXMXPRY you may be one of folks who profited from a long list of undeserved promotions and high titles in S&T. The others are venting out because of the classlessness and concerned with how this org is being managed down the drain

Completely shocked that the leaders of the new S&T orgs are completely clueless on process. Say what you want about IT but they had a very mature set of processes that worked at the scale of Pepsi, even if slowly. How did we take 500 steps backwards since 2020? All knowledgeable people booted or chained in PGT trying to achieve the impossible.

@sac+1sXMXPRY Not only that, but DG and the Stewards are completely siloed from each other, even though they're both under Reilly. DG creates "policies", but never bothers to communicate them, or if they do, the Data Stewards just do whatever they want anyway.

It’s not the IT organization. IT rolls under S&T. The chaos started with S&T creating a parallel tech organization with D+A, DPS, DG and more. The highly acclaimed, highly paid D+A org is not achieving anything. There’s so much bureaucracy and hand offs in S&T. To top it off finance does not know where the dollars are as S&T finance is totally un-governed

Frustrating to read these comments.
Look at all the SVP and VPs in the IT organization, seemingly not achieving deliverables and meanwhile we are losing market share in every category.

It's funny how S&T and PGT haven't been capable of managing SAP globally, a platform that has been in the market for decades. At the same time, they claim they will transform and digitize with IA, and develop internal digital products. They can't even deploy off-the-shelf technology. G****ri's and AK's teams don't know tech, AI, or our business. They will remain as outsiders until they are shown the door. Let's hope it is soon.

There are leaders who get sh** done, motivate teams and help an org progress. Then there are leaders like G****ri and AK who bark orders, say it’s my way or the highway, make the culture toxic and get their paychecks

@OP+1sXMXPRY: there is no leadership and for the fact, no AI.
it is filled with nepotism and cronies. entire SAP IT was hired on connections, no HR nothing. Vivek and his entire group who were contractor developers suddenly hired as snr directors, directors were all contractor developers... Entire PGT is like that.
Rotten at the top core.
