Incredibly tone deaf. I am safe, but I still had anxiety about layoffs just like OP. You sound like an absolute miserable human being and I feel sad for you. I bet you have no friends and your family must find you to be a real delight. You represent all that is wrong with the culture here. Karma is coming for you!
Since no one else is saying it, you're a piece of sh-t. YOU deserve the layoff, you complete and utter a--hole. People are worried about putting food on the table for their families or keeping a roof over their head and you are treating them like that?

Take care buddy. If you survive today, thank the universe and first thing you do is start looking for new job. This is 90% of planned reductions. As long as upper management is not streamlined this will continue coming months.
I’m so sorry. I know this is tough. You deserve mental safety. Hopefully we all get finality today and know one way or another (at least until the takeover is complete). Hoping for the best for you!
