Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Anyone else not even care anymore if they get laid off?

I’m so tired of working here. Already looking for new jobs and waiting for the bonus to hit my deposit so I can leave ASAP….

The issue now is will you make it severance or get terminated "for cause" first.

Mgrs are being coached to do the latter, to avoid severance and unemployment claim costs.

Staff doesn't fully realize how prevalent terminations will become. That's why people are being put in roles they are ill-suited for (set up to fail). Truly awful practice.

@ "F him" poster: Don't you think this whole plan has massively backfired on him? LOL! I sure do. It's like us old geezers are more determined now than ever to get that severence.

I absolutely do not want to lose my job, but one thing is for damn sure, I'm not leaving for free. Severance or nothing, and Sharts intentional douchebaggery only makes me more determined to make him pay it. He doesn't deserve to get what he wants. F him.

No! I’m ready ! I work in a known sh-t show where everyone is miserable and trying to find a job to get out. Managers keep leaving due to being berated in front of entire teams. Department keeps doing re orgs and putting people in roles they don’t have skills for and setting them up for failure. Total misery until I can find a job to pay my rent.

"Nope not a single F given. I slaved the way and invested hard for 2 decades. I will take my 38 week paid vacation and retire early. Life is great!"

So for the folks who talk about sticking it out and hoping for change. What exactly do you think will need to change? What is the probability of that change occurring and in what time frame? Questions you need to ask yourself. Others need to ask when is enough enough of the toxic environment and if life is too short, how short? Just remember , the Regulatory stuff did not create the toxicity. That was created by the low quality of leaders at different levels. People who have no business managing people and have never been groomed to manage people. They just see bad behaviors of others who climb over the dead bodies and think that is what is needed. So ask yourselves, what has to change, is it probable and the time you are willing to wait or do something to impact change. Otherwise it’s the same broken record here and frankly not as amusing as it used to be.

10+ years here. I'm waiting it out to see if I get a package, no sense leaving if I can get a very long paid vacation. I get hunted weekly and have had some good conversations with a few of them. I'm not worried in the least I would find something quickly.

We can walk and chew gum at the same time. It's pretty easy to prepare for ones next career and say #u-k HY.

Finally, a posting from someone not satisfied with working at WF and taking action to move to another workplace rather than sit around and mope, posting about how bad WF is and wants a layoff notice!

There is hope!

There are some on my team (mgr included) who express hope that things will turn for better if they don't get laid off.

The problem with hope is that it conveniently ignores past results.

Each and every year mgmt expresses some sort of challenge that ultimately gives it an excuse to stifle workers in both pay and advancement.

WF is a brutal place to work where apathy is the primary coping mechanism employees use to limp along until next the paycheck.

Honestly surprised that my entire team's job, let alone my job, is still here. I had put the over/under on Charlie at 4 years for my job.

Ideally, I'll make it to Charlie year 6 before my job is gone.

I didn't. And when it happened, I shed no tears, and danced my way to retirement 14 months later.

I've been waiting for a year. I will stick it out so that I may have a long vacation paid for.
