You are correct. With the handpicked leadership in Skunkworks and DF overseeing the entire operation, CE1 is going to regulate Tesla, GM, and any other BEV OEM to legacy electric mobility companies.

It's not just the vehicle itself that CE1 takes to the next level, it's the software and services that our customers will get.

It’s crazy that people have this much faith in what will be a mediocre vehicle. Estimating 30k now means it’ll cost more by the time it ends up available to buy, and there’s already plenty of 35k BEVs available.

CE1 is alive and kicking. Whoever is writing negative stories about CE1 does not know the facts. CE1 is being testing in Dyno and Vehicles. Test results are exceeding expectations. I invite all of you to stop by Livonia, of course if you have a Ford badge, and confirm it with your own eyes.

@dk Is correct. Leadership is completely incapable. Most were handed jobs through friends and family, they didn't earn it through experience. In my area, they are incapable of identifying the problem, assigning resources and letting the resources solve the problem. Instead, they dictate unworkable solutions, have multiple people working on the same thing and then dictate new solutions before the first ones are complete. Those in the LL5+ community at Ford are not smart people. One broken mess after another. Its exhausting.

I LEFT VOLUNTARILY for a better management engineering job. Less stress, more pay. Working for Ford is a meme

Doggy laid off over 5,000 engineers in Michigan over the past four years, and these California punks still expect respect. They don’t get that in four years, Doggy just drained Ford’s funds while failing to keep himself relevant in the company. Nothing actually gets delivered, and claiming progress is just a way to keep him going keep wasting billions while laying off even more valuable core engineers in Michigan. Its a sh..t show and I don't undertstand why the board does not expell these Apple Coblers. Ford is already finished....

There is a real a--hole senior manager at the skunkworks working on one of DF’s pet projects who doesn’t know anything about automotive. They would have no problem throwing you under the bus.

@bc I retired three years ago. I was not let go...So let that sink in. In all my years in the business I have never seen a more arrogant CEO than what I see right now running Ford. When something goes bad he deflects the blame. Since Wall Street will not ask I will. What has JF done since he was hired at Ford? Please respond... He proclaims to be the smartest man in the room yet since he was hired Ford lost market share & left market segments.. Again he is a so called marketing guy..
Then there is Doug. again since the Press nor Wall Street will question this guy.. If you look at his own LINKIN BIO does anyone else see a pattern? His own timeline.. he does not stay anywhere for more than 3-5yrs. Is that not concerning? What has this guy really done in the business OTHER THAN HOP AROUND?
Then you have LL3s who was recently promoted to an engineering position but lacks true background to do so. came out of release (WERS).. went from grade 7 to manager in like 6yrs.. wow we all missed that career path. Friends of family in this case
But the one that really get me is HOW they decided to make people take a test to prove they belong at Ford.
Now does bf, jf, df also take a test to demonstrate they are not over their heads? Again since Wall STreet and the press will not ask I we will...Ask yourself everyone has the BOD & Senior management demonstrated they are confident and know what they are doing?
I heard some Brown noser (jf or df likely) comment about this so called skunk works project and how this will be the saviour of the company..all these savings in manufacturing.. Gee where have I heard that one before.. Of course I recall now The furniture guy.. Art Van Hackett.... quoted as saying 30%+ savings only to have the opposite happen. Where was the accountability for the BOD & JF? Oh there was none..Another example of Wall St and the Press failure to hold these people to the very standards the lower ranks are being held too.
FYI.. I sold my shares of company stock years ago...I retired not because I felt it was my time but because I lost confidence in not only the direction the company was going but in the lack of a realistic vision and plan.. So in another words.. I FIRED YOU.

On a final note Nobody doubts the industry will evolve.. that we will go to a different type of powertrain.. call it "THE JETSONS".. But you do that in steps... BOD & Senior leadership ignored the data that was presented to them..lack of infrastructure/range/charge times/cost were clearly pointed out to the above numerous times. Instead of demonstrating leadership they acted like clowns.

@bc you’re right I don’t work at ford but I did. I saw all the organizational dysfunction and top heavy “leadership”. There is no way this company develops anything of significance over the next decade. An affordable electric vehicle already exists, the only reason they are not in the us is because of the US auto industries government protection.

But yeah keep reinventing the “knob” and watching LL2’s flame out because their revolutionary trip planner UI design was leaked to Google. Or watch all the LL3’s provide awful direction and fight for their leaders approval while knowing absolutely nothing about how to build a car. Join another weekly call with engineers that just sit there and contribute nothing with their cameras off. Join a workshop where you recycle d-mb ideas. Good luck using any technology that is industry standard and have fun using last year’s geriatric AI models. That’s if you are technically competent, which you most likely are not.

The company was the worst I’ve ever worked at and that is saying something.

Not 1 part had gone thru validation or the release gate. Or even manufacture feasibility. Yaaaaa I'm not worried about my job. I will be fixing there stuff for years to come. Just as I do for the work that comes back from the LCC.

CE1 is next on the chopping block. If they could have made an affordable electric vehicle they would have by now. But they can’t. Instead they invested tons of resources into U759, P800 and whatever the e transit acronym was I forget. They’ve instead moved all the goal posts on deliverables for those platforms. Developed nothing of significance. Halted production of f-150 lightnings and who cares about the “mock-e”.

Anybody touting CE1 is a tool. They already unrolled most of those teams back to either DPD, CVS or IVI. They closed the Irvine studio and more cuts will come.

I’m ashamed to reply to this post because it’s clearly bait. Ford has no future besides established government relationships.

Pitt Bull sent California army to improve his ratings.
Why would you give away your life and savings for all this, trying to wait out the recession ?

One phrase describes it all: Lack of ownership over anything. It's almost like they know what's coming (or not coming) and they don't wanna get caught holding the bag. Chumps.

California folks trying to save their a!ss. Doggy is about to be booted out after 4 years of failures, nothing being delivered, billions wasted. He is good at laying off engineers in Michigan. When will your turn come f-ker?

Team full of grifters all the skunk workers are joining ford to coast and living off off someone else's work. Case in point: adas and blue cruise.

I interviewed there unfortunately got rejected because of course I’m not good enough. But they don’t seem to know simple things as federal regulation or guidelines and I also heard they ran out of budget so they’re trying to hire people within Ford.

With DF as the lead and the end product/services under the watch of Model e, yes it will be a success for the company.
