Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

You were wrong about 12th.

Nothing came through yet and it's 3PM here - where did you all get that date?

@OP : checkout the posts from Canada and AppD. More on the way in Sales in EMEAR at around end-jan to March timeline. Rolling LRs, , business rebalancing.

There's no such thing as red badge layoffs. They're not _our_ employees.

We actually had red badge layoffs that day in CMS. 9 from our team.

Still no news in UK. Most of us thought jan 12, but nothing has come - no notifications and no “all clear”.

OP, where are you that it's 3PM where you are at and it's 9AM ET / 6AM PT? All the dates that were given were for the US, so it's nowhere close to the end of the day in the US.

They were not wrong about 12th. I got impacted today.

@prj+1kETq1Ru, please define impacted. Did you mean you were notified today about being terminated as part of this "non-cost-cutting" LR or did your employment end today?

My understanding of the situation was that people were initially supposed to be notified on Dec 12th and "impacted" in either Feb or Mar based on their choice to pursue alternate internal req's or just leave and take the package. The reason for the Feb impact date is due to CA's WARN requirements for 60-days notice when impacting more than 50 employees.

Then some departments, notably Sales, couldn't get their lists (or act/sh-t) together before the HR deadline so HR could have the paperwork ready by Dec 12th, so they said the notifications could stretch out as long as late Jan, which happens to coincide with the end of the 2nd quarter. Gotta have those sales people making their quarterly quota before putting the kn--e in their backs.
