Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Quitting soon without COLA

Looked at my spending over the long weekend and I am losing my shirt working in the Permian. If they don’t bring back the COLA I am going to start making noise about needing to move back to Houston like many others are already doing. If they won’t move me back time to jump ship. This is insane. Bart should move out here and see how much more expensive it is.

Didn’t your mom teach you not to believe everything in the internet? Site is wrong. Midland is way more expensive.

Yeah so bestplaces dot net is the authority now, eh? Lived in Houston for a decade, then moved to Midland for the company. Can tell you without question it is much more expensive out here, not to mention the lower overall quality of life. Don’t care what your id--tic blog says. The cost of living adjustment needs to be reinstated to stop myself and others from moving on.

Overall the cost of living is less in Midland

@qru+1bHGj6lo if you have lived in Houston and Midland you wouldn’t be asking this question. Everything is more expensive in Midland than in Houston.

The very name of Midland sounds so nice.
Like Springfield.
I understand there is a Paris, TX.
Is there a hotel there?

SO GLAD TO BE OUT OF THIS SH-T HO-E MIDLAND.
However, I don’t see how Midland is more expensive than Houston, Dallas or any other major city.

I am making friends with my neighbors who work for competitors and letting them know I am available if anything good comes up. I don’t mind Midland but I do mind being underpaid. I am willing to stay and work for competitor who actually pays what people in Permian deserve. Chevron is actually moving people here. Plus they have a real office not the joke we have on Holiday Hill road. Don’t get me started on the trailer park white trash ghetto office in Carlsbad. Embarrassing it is.

Anyone who moves there now is an id--t. Higher cost of living and same pay. Stay in Houston.

So you aren’t buying the best opportunities for career growth BS? More like best opportunities to be PIPd in the shark tank the Permian has become. Sending VP pets out there and then not giving any relief on ranking bucket distribution. Once again we put the best people who are most willing to move where the company needs them to be and proceed to demoralize them and fire them. That is what I call #WINNING
