You are correct about DF and software. He knows software. He also knows software is critical to Ford's future in modern mobility. Thus it goes without saying that DF expects hard work.

I went from above expectations mid-year to below expectations at the end of the year for the first time ever. Never saw it coming. I heard that management from the top enforced it. If it was up to my people leader I’d have done fine. My guess is they’re making up for the UAW increases and making it easier to layoff people later on for “poor performance”.

This is one of the lowest performing software orgs I've worked for. It seems that for years they got away with telling the top guys that software is hard so we are late. But now with DF on board, he understands that yes, software is hard, but you can do better by working harder. I got exceeds targets as well in the past few years and I have never worked less in my career. I think the gravy train is over. Time to get my butt in gear or move someplace else where tech is a minor part of the company and the CEO has no idea how it works.

I can say that if you got below target it might be ture but it likely isnt yruely reflective of your work.

I was fine in mid year and i am generally above or get alot of exceeded expectations over 100 etc. This year first time ever got the bad rating and yes it came out of nowhere and supercsior basically said was forced to do it by management above.

I think they are trying to make us salary pay for the cost of the strikes and UAW increase pay this year.

You've got a better chance of seeing your REAR end.

This isn't anything to have anxiety about. Calm down and just work. There won't be anything you can do, no advance knowledge is going to make anything better for you.

@qfk, the criteria didn’t change, management just didn’t follow the mid year criteria as it wasn’t enforced. My org had 10% marked as below target mid year and was given feedback that it was too low but everyone just shrugged and did nothing. Some of us followed the guidelines and our team either know where they stand or in a couple of cases, my guys improved and I was able to move the up in ratings when we compared across teams.

Blame the middle guys who thought they would win and not have to follow directions from DF. As I said, challenge management on why your rating has gone down.

: @qkd+1qXbMvPH "You should have an idea based on your mid year."

Not true. The rating criteria used at mid-year changed near the end of the year landing many "on target" achievers to fall into "below target".

You should have an idea based on your mid year. If you didn’t get a mid year review, you should challenge your management team for it. The tool won’t show you anything until you supervisor releases it. I send it right after our in person review but not before.
