Get the 30+ years out and you will see the improvement! We don’t need dead weight who are scared of laptops.
I admire your optimism for 3M's future, but anyone who believes "3M's problems are behind it" isn't paying attention.
A lot of 30+ year employees have already left and many that remain will be leaving soon. We'll be enjoying life and living off our pensions. Your generation will be experiencing "hatchet man" Bill Brown's leadership and dealing with the ongoing issues of the company. Take a look in the mirror if you want to see one of the real losers.
Sorry to break it to all u losers… 3ms problems are behind it. It’s an upward trend from here. As long as we can get all the 30 plus year losers out of the company.
Has anyone here watched the Stan Original Documentary "Revealed: How to Poison A Planet" that premiered on Sunday? Wondering what your thoughts are. It looks like a subscription to the Stan streaming service is required in order to watch it and I'm not a subscriber.
Wait til the new Stan documentary, How to Poison a Planet is released. You can watch the trailer on youtube.
There is a 2022 documentary on called “Downfall: The Case Against Boeing”. Interesting as well. It is on Netflix.
Desi's ghost isn't spinning in his grave. He quite frankly is the greatest example of Peter Principle one will ever see.
In 122 years, 3M has had two great leaders: McKnight a (visionary decades ahead of his time) and Lew Lehr (a strategist who tried to get 3M to leverage the lab's capabilities).
That's it. Buckley might come in a distant third simply for trying to undertake a massive course correction after McNerney. Inge was a thief. Roman the fall guy after decades of mismanagement. No one else will be remembered. Bill Brown? He's going to make $50mm to oversee the splintering of Mining, shrug his shoulders, and not give a sh*t.
Mcnerney probably bought the section of Hawaiis Gilligan's Island that they tried to sell to Fernando Marcos when he fled the Phillipines with millions in dollars and pesos.
Marcos only sc--wed up one country temporarily. Jimbo destroyed two American icons for good.
What makes you think Jimmy Mac would agree to an interview? I'm sure he's too busy getting pina coladas delivered by his servants on whatever island he bought with his money he got for destroying 2 US icons of industry...
Would be interesting to see someone with the journalistic b a ll s to interview Jimmy Mac about his thoughts on having applied the GE playbook at Boeing and 3M. What are the chances he’d lose his cool and storm out of the interview?
The worst part of this story is how Mcnerney made tens of millions emasculating companies like 3M and Boeing just to kiss Wall Streets butt and then destroy proud and profitable corporations.
Too bad Desi didn't have a good successor in the wings to keep 3M as the great company is was for a century.
One can expect McKnight is enjoying his eternal rewards. Neutron Jack and his acolytes? Not so much
It seems Solventum didn't have a good spinoff. Share price nose dived from $80 till $63 within first 3 days trading.
It is a long read, but yes….chilling how similar 3M evolved. Big Mac’s way of doing business at both 3M and Boeing had the same long term result.
