Leaked internal sourcing memo says that the change is happening August 15. Prior town halls suggest that there will still be a large R&D presence in Minnesota.

Official Solventum address is now a KCI office in San Antonio (previously was 275), so the “HQ” was changed despite Bryan’s reluctance to designate a formal HQ. I would post the updated W-9 here if I could. The building in Eagan will just be lab space and offices for R&D - no admin. Makes you wonder if the MN-based admin staff will be permanently WFH or gradually moved elsewhere?
“Excuse me sir - this is a Wendy’s”
(Maybe you all should take it to the Solventim forum)
Obviously this wasn’t right. 20 year lease on a building in Eagan. Shrunk the footprint of offices because they knew most of us would rather be home. Thank goodness!
Unbelievable they are pushing the SAP agenda. Dan Hurxxa should get himself quickly fired!
The leadership have explicitly communicated that there won’t be HQ changes disruptive to staff. Obviously that may change. Also, most of the LT is remote.
There’s way too much change going on right now, and it’s burning the org out. The LT is changing everything to fit med device. They're also hiring all their cronies, and they’re not playing nice with 3M. If it stops soon, it might be fine. On a positive note, they got rid of the person in charge of the company name.
I’ve got my resume updated.
@qce+1tT6RUJ7 - It's pretty much a sh-t show. They doubled down on moving forward with SAP and they're approaching just as bad (or worse) than 3M did, which is saying something. They have incompetent leadership teams at the helm, making huge decisions without consulting the SMEs in the areas related to those decisions.
In summary, it's not good...
Seemed a bit premature to be making major changes like that.
The day's not over yet, but so far this prediction fell on its face.
Which one ?
The old Four Points campus was beautiful. Not that Maplewood had much going for it - 235 is literally textbook hospital appearance.
Anyways it won’t be Austin anyways - will be San Antonio and the old KCI offices will have plenty of space to accommodate Bryan and a few execs. Texas is great for tax purposes but I doubt they’d move much more here u less they want mass resignations from the Minnesota crew.

It’s happening
I always thought the Austin campus resembled a prison, although I can also see it resembling an insane asylum.
Has Solventum mandated Full return to office?
Long-timers remember when Lewis Lehr threatened to move a big investment in electronics industry (and 3M products supporting the burgeoning home computer market) to Austin, TX if Minnesota governor Rudy Perpich didn't back down on corporate tax increases and more aggressive environmental laws on hazardous waste in the mid 1980s.
Rudy went ahead and called 3M bluff. Lehr had that huge campus built near Austin (any reading this work there - I heard is was a clumsy design that resembled a campus for mentally unstable people). That lasted until Mcnerney decided he didn't like two HQ like campuses and eventually de-invested in the place.
Ps San Antonio is a nice place to live from what friends have told me.
Nelson Peltz = fewer employees, dismantled company, remnants worse off than original. Very bad to have him around. Ask the people who used to work for Dupont.
I interviewed for a role with Solventum and it seemed quite dysfunctional. I'm sure it's better than remainco though.
Nelson Peltz is an activist investor. Basically he wants to scrape value out to the shareholders, so don't assume you have any job security if you still work there and he's successful. He's told SOLV he thinks the company should "re-accelerate organic growth, restore margins and consider simplifying its portfolio through asset sales."
We have been released from the burden of 3M. There is a feeling of hope.
A lot of growing pains as Solventum continues to establish leadership, policies as a Medtech company and establishing the separate supply chain.
I am not familar with Nelson Peltz, I assume he is on the executive board of directors?
Heard Solventum has decided to close Med&Surg R&D in Germany. Few folks that I know are affected.
It will probably be at their current San Antonio offices.
What city?
Wow! Wonder if all the IT folks will be forced to move?
Their share price has dropped significantly post spin off
How are Solventum people feeling in the new company? Is there as much bloodlust on the operations side as there was in 3M? There’s a lot of openings on their careers page and I’m thinking about applying for some.
How do people feel about Nelson Peltz getting involved? It kind of scares me to see that.
