Meeting planner with HR

Me as well as other colleagues have received individual meeting planners with upper management and HR rep. Anyone else?

Claims RTO is still 3x/week. Management recently circulated an email to dispel any rumors that RTO is increasing.

Plenty of HR employees allowed to stay fully remote. Pretty hypocritical.

@5by message to my team was new focus on in person work over remote. No mention of changes to offices

I'm curious if anyone was told that the RIF was due to a change in their specific office location only. My entire remote office was told go to a center or else here's your package because we no longer have X BoB. If that was NOT the case can you comment below. I don't know how much noise can be made about this but if there is a case to be made, I'm willing to start the ball rolling while I look for another job as well. Cause I will be damned if I will move on my hourly pay to be closer to my center.

@e7 Been there, 20+ years myself. I was laid off in 2022 for no reason other than voicing my opinion on business matters. For ~20 of my 23 years, AIG valued individual thinking and promoted me for it. That all reversed under the new regime.

You might think it's hard to leave AIG, but I promise you will never look back except to shake your head mockingly at the direction they are headed.

I was impacted. Go into an office that has nothing to do with my day to day job, or take severance because said office is more than 30 miles away. Severance offer is the standard AIG package - two weeks for every year of service, plus bonus and unused PTO. Must let HR know by June 27th and separation date is no sooner than September 12. Ten year employee with stellar reviews and multiple promotions. I've always known this company is cr-p but it's next level now. Zafino is a joke.

The scare comments on Europe are not true.

No news in Europe for now. Honestly 3 days in office are already too much for me, all the other peers here offer 3 days wfh or even more. I don't know about US market, in Europe finding experienced people isn't so easy, also because a lot of new insurance companies are opening here lately... Now it's almost summer and I have to reach office through a tedious commute, I don't even recall hiw I could do this sh1* t everyday before

@kb, there were 4 meetings? As in, 4 people were laid off, or 4 categories of people being let go? Do you know if this is across the board or if it's certain departments?

@kb they laid people off for no reason?

@k4 Between yesterday and today, there were 4. 1. Bye your position is limited, 2. you're <30 miles, go to the office or resign 3. you're more than 30 miles, go in the nearest office or get a package and 4. You're exempted. I don't personally know anyone in the last category.

@dh it was today. They are laying me off and giving me a severance package… they want my job to be in the new Atlanta office and not remote like I have been doing for the last 15plus years .. make it make sense…Just received high praise and a promotion 3 months ago and now… apparently not good enough… need to be in Atlanta. 20 plus yr employee.

So several scenarios happening I hear… if you work near an office you either start going in or resign, some people who are remote get to keep their jobs and continue remote. Some of us like me who is remote, not near an office is losing their job with a severance package because they want a body to fill in the new Atlanta office to do the same job.

What day is your meeting?

AIG was remote for years prior to covid so RTO is really d-mb and archaic. Forcing people to basically quit , be fired or move thier lives to an office for a company that doesn't care is stupid. Not as stupid as when all the Medical Only Adjusters were fired. But still stupid

Are you labeled as remote? Apparently they’re giving them the option to commute to an office or resign. :-/
