At least three departments have been notified layoffs to be announced in two weeks. Not sure the total number but everyone biting their nails until then. This is not a rumor but a fact.

So it is now another week and no news of who is impacted. I wish they would just tell us already.
Hope everyone is doing as well as can be hoped for….not a good day
There are cms, social workers, behavior health and administered that help those teams, along with the coaches that are going to be impacted. Statistically, since there are more CMs, more CMs may be impacted....no teams or departments have been informed yet of staffing, no meetings have been set, despite what the fear mongers have been posting. Information will be shared mid week. Staff I numbers are being projected and finalize and will then be distributed to leads to share the info with their teams. Please don't assume what you're seeing posted is true...like 75% in 60 days. Its stressful. But at this time, no one knows the information yet, no meetings have been Set. It is safe to assume a percentage of each of the above mentioned departments will be impacted, as was shared earlier this week, and more information will be coming mid week.
Advising current staff of upcoming layoffs is genius. Humana hopes people scramble and take jobs outside so they don’t have to pay severance or unemployment. Remember, severance isn’t guaranteed.
Lol. This is my 14th round of layoffs with Humana. I won’t survive this one because of the change in platform and they are decreasing the number of members they’re managing. They said in the meeting we had on Tuesday that if you took the opt out option you would not be eligible to be rehired for A year. If you were laid off you can be rehired at any time.
That’s not how the opt out works…
I’m in the pilot and didn’t get one…do you know if they’re ACT or triage?
Skeptical about the Opt Out..Two years ago I was one of those given to opt out vs go telephonic from the field. Then came the But, lose severance and later not qualify for unemployment as would be a voluntary termination. So they want us to sign an Opt Out before we even know we may be selected? Not my first rodeo with Humana after 10 years!
Did anyone get an email at EOB today with a meeting invite for Monday? "Alignment meeting". A friend of mine in ecom (hcmrn) got it at 5p cst today.
This is a place for people to ask questions, concerns and vent. Please don’t criticize peoples thoughts. It is stressful for all.
Below poster, I agree, but some of us who want to stay and love our job may not have that option
Maybe those of you who are so upset should head on out the door now. If you are so miserable and unhappy why stay if you are can’t stand working there. If you feel the need to complain, leave. No need to wait if it is so difficult. Just give your notice and go. Or stay and do what you are being paid to do, your job.
Credit to Humana.
They did wait until after the engagement survey.
My department is a non-
clinical one but we work with ECOM and the Pilot. I believe we will be affected also and this waiting is very difficult on everyone.
Interesting…this RIF is happening during open enrollment….this echoes what has been said that Humana is moving away from being an insurance company to a company that does insurance
I know we have about 60plus Social workers at the region level. Not including the HAH Social Workers. I would guesstimate about 150?
Been through 3 riffs, I’d like to think it gets easier but it doesn’t and I’m not sure why in even surprised that this is happening again. Jokes on me except this time sounds like they will be giving us the option of taking the severance.. I’ll lay myself off.
They did same thing to 800 people in Feb 2018, while you got told laid off you saw your job posted and interviews going on for YOUR position in your area, how ridiculous is that?
Reorganization and restructuring, same words, now calling it Humana Care support. Said testing ECOM with goal of holistic simplify care. Said found a lot of overlap in support, members getting calls from CM with post discharge, then called by pharmacy, then called by HEDIS group to close gaps. Too many calls = duplication. Shoot the CM teams have told leadership for years that this is an issue and causes members to not answer the phone. You mean to tell me took these “strategists and analysts” this long to finally GET what the CM staff been saying for a decade? Now they decide to do layoffs.
Said “case management side will have strategy changes, lead by centralized team, regionally aligned and REORGANIZATION and RESTRUCTURING is inevitable!
CM layoffs of those affected in the coming weeks and please be sensitive to those affected! WHAT they act like anyone who is not laid off caused the layoff.
They did say that the below areas would not be affected:
UM= Utilization Management
SNP= Special Needs Population
Medicaid = working Medicaid members
Well that makes so people give huge sigh of relief. However big corporations don’t change, they have been doing this at Humana for over 2 decades that I know of and apparently they plan to keep doing it. If you survive just know get nice severance AND I have seen some return in a year or so after laid off and get more pay plus reinstate your years of tenure. Crazy huh
Prayers to all
Does anyone know how many associates work with humana at home and with the regions? I was wondering since we had someone post 75 percent of those associates would be laid off. I wonder if that person was in a different meeting than ECOM but talking about the new operating model. It feels like it will be a significant amount of people will be RIF- just a feeling
Basically they spent tons on Ecom and it is not giving the return on investment they thought. Seems like they are cutting their losses and focusing on where they have impact. Any hcmrn could tell them that all these calls usually don’t help members all that much. We fix short term issues but program has know for years that the members don’t make long term changes.
I will take the paychecks!
While part of me appreciates not being blind-sided, giving us months to sweat this out is cruel.
HAH and ECOM Roles will be impacted, but other departments, too, given the lower numbers of members they will be dealing with
What three departments?
Agree. Waiting is not good for anyone’s mental or physical health. Just tell us!!!
It is frustrating. I believe they have known this was coming for some time now. The ECOM Pilot has been a comedy of errors. ECOM seemed to stop moving forward about a month ago and we’ve been working off lists instead of using the program as intended. I just wish they’d go ahead and let those who are being let go know so they can start looking for other jobs or opportunities.
