Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

End of WFH on the Horizon?

We were told in a meeting that productivity is low on WFH days (Tuesday/Friday) … unless it improves then WFH will go away .. we asked if it was our team.. and why wouldn’t they just remove it from those underperforming reps ..

Response our teams doing great … and sadly a few bad apples can ruin it for everyone

Dude. It wasn’t a Police Sting reference. Brain is bleeding again. Split personality. I wrote the original Gordon reference, and changing it to a Gordo reference. Gordo. Brain aneurysm. Sad.

I wrote the post with Gordon. It wasn’t a joke. I wasn’t referencing Sting. It was just a typo. A big typo. I am having a brain hemorrhoid.

Gordon, that was brilliant.

That's hysterical.

For anyone not getting the joke, or at least the joke I made up in my head, Gordon is Sting's real name. And Sting wrote Every Breath You Take.

Cerebral humor on another are you kidding Thursday. Love it!

You must be new to the company or how computer systems work … every call you take, every call you make, all the items you work on is tracked in the systems…. You can use internal systems to track your daily efficiency/performance …. So you think management can not do this on a larger scale?

Contact your Ombudsman. This will require outside mediation. Remediation.

It's going to upset a lot of employees if the EC uses the FINRA changes to justify 4 or 5 day RTO, as there are whole areas with thousands of people like STS which are not affected by licensing rules.

@pgi+1rp8VNHD - Agree - where’s the data? How can they isolate productivity by day across the firm? They can’t so they say it is so and will look appalled if we ask for data. There is none.

I have credible sources saying before they increase office days they'll be reducing WFH approvals. The June exception requests will be highly scrutinized with the goal of reducing exceptions to a fraction of the current fully remote employees.

The writing is in the wall. You will be back in the office 4x / week by end of 2024. Of course all of these reasons ring hollow when the CEO built their own office in Ohio and HR Head WFH full time.

Reasons for thee but not for me…

The FINRA rule has a remote inspection pilot and only applies to certain registered people depending on their function. It’s not a valid excuse they can use quite yet.

Did notice all new roles they are posting simply say “on-site”. Not hybrid…

Not hearing anything from any credible sources but lots of rumors/speculation that it will be going away around June or July now that FINRA announced an end to the temporary WFH/home office inspection requirement relief that FINRA provided in 2020. I’m guessing SCHW uses this as an excuse to require RTO 5 days a week.

The EC is just looking for a good excuse to get rid of WFH. They have always hated it and feel employees will work harder with the fear that their manager is looking over their shoulder.

One of my first thoughts when the email came out announcing RTO was “wonder how long before it’s 5 days back in office”.

It isn't a few bad apples. It's a premeditated lie.

There was never any intent on staying at 60% RTO. The entire concept was absurd.

  • Renew ever six months
  • No criterion for approvals or denials
  • Scheduling in office days so employees can't commute long distance
  • Zero justification for RTO
  • No metrics

This is and was about forcing resignations and making employees cower under their pathetic masters.
