Why are 95% of Directors incompetent, spineless and heartless individuals. Is that a qualification to be a Director in Sabre? My Delivery Director is the most unqualified and incompetent person I have ever met. He/She seems completely oblivious of what the furloughed employees are going through. I guess He/She is the perfect candidate for Sabre who don’t care about individuals.

Last reply from ., Noh Karen.... this person seems the right fit inconsequential insecure director to me ... no capability to guide mentor the team to success ..,
RE: @pbd+159sJHfn - Eerily similar, maybe you are talking about DR from Delivery who replaced LV.
I've found that only 83% of Directors are incompetent, but 89% of VPs are p–py
Several of the sh—est ones recently took early retirement so that was a good thing!
My director is competent and I love working for him.
Not sure if all can be generalized as incompetent etc. but I have first hand experience with a long term individual who got promoted to director few years back BUT has no clue of the work that goes in for the group he/she is 'heading / directing' now. This individual just keeps throwing latest tech jargon after reading articles whether those are pertinent to the project / conversation / meeting or not. Always in a attacking / critic mode when in a demo by team. No real leading by example ..just always pushing the team hard to deliver more value without delivering any himself. Not a servant or any kind of 'Leader'. Just a whip enforcer ...
As a manager I can tell you I was excited to get the promo and wanted to do really well for my team. However it became very disheartening when everything I wanted to do for them was shot down by my higher ups. I grew to hate the whole DPM process because it's a sham. I could rate you as high as I thought appropriate only to be told "our VP doesn't believe in Outstanding levels" and etc. Also promotions, VCP, and raises were done the same way. I put in what is fair and warranted only to have it changed by higher ups. At Sabre, your manager is there only to do the dirty work of admin things, approvals for time off, telling you of complaints from others, and just relaying your raise and DPM ratings. It makes you very jaded. Also, it makes me realize that is Sabre performs poorly in the marketplace, it rests squarely on the executive leadership as they really call all of the shots.
Being incompetent and not seeming to be empathetic to the furloughed people's plight are 2 completely different things. Incompetence is definitely a bad thing. Not seeming to be empathetic might just be a coping strategy that allows them to handle a very difficult situation that's completely out of their control.
The furloughed employees are gone... why would he or she care?
Lots of starving people in Africa too.
All your director can do is collect a check and ride it out u til the end.
you have a particular problem with Director level employees or with 1 individual? 95% seems a bit mathematical to me
