@cx Look, I ain’t sayin’ I’m some oracle or got all the answers, and surely Pepsico’s downfall got many layers but no one gon’ tell me the mess in S&T - especially DPA - ain’t had a major hand in it.
Over the last few years, DPA has been throwin’ money and resources around like it grows on trees, but what they got to show for it? Not much.
Expensive VP roles, appointments with unsuitable experience, behaviors often breaching PEP code of conduct and common professional standards.
That whole digital transformation Athina hyped up? Straight-up flop.
DPA been a trainwreck, no lie.
From overpaid VPs and LGs, to bringing in way more folks than needed, not even pretending to follow common agile practices or keep track of where the money goin'. And when folks pointed out to the issues, they were brutally silenced! So no surprise on PEP poor performance yet again!
Product managers pullin' in different directions, data science team can’t deliver, design folks makin’ stuff unfeasible to deliver, tech missing deadlines, and IBP - after all that funding, still ain't brought real value.
And through all that? The same folks sittin’ in senior leadership like it’s all good — except G-ayatri, who finally out, but not before duckin’ hard questions and playin’ her own games the whole time. That’s where most DPA folks energy went on regular basis, dealing with poor leadership.
It didn’t take long in conversation with G-yay to to recognize the unfounded claims, misleading narrative, and the lack of substance. And she was not the only one - several other DPA VPs have been known for the same, empty rhetoric, disconnected from reality, or bullying behavior covering up their incompetence, lack of clearly defined roadmap or realistic vision to lead.
Try talking to their VP of UX and you get the picture! Those folks only care about their pockets, career progression and how much they can drain from Pepsico.
Shareholders should be calling for some serious accountability. DPA leadership needs to be held to the fire, and so S&T?
It needs a full-on reboot. No more games - it’s time for change across leadership layers.
