Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Let them delay layoffs as long as they want

I don't know what's with people and this desire to "get it over with." I'm not in any rush to become jobless. I'm glad to hear that we potentially don't have to worry until next year. That means I can relax and enjoy the holidays properly. Then I'll deal with whatever happens when it happens. I'm perfectly okay with the status quo for a few months.

Layoff will also hit TAC managers this time. ELT is not joking anymore. Maria and Jamie already have the list. Notifications will be sent after Holidays.

I often think that the person(s) trying to remove someone ARE actually those who should be removed.

"Some anonymous muppet says 40% and y'all scream fire!"

How do you know it was a muppet? Can they even type with those fingerless hands and the sticks attached?

You mean we have a dream of becoming a company where the ratio between Engineers (people who code, TAC, NCE) and the overhead of project managers, managers, coaches, people who 'want to help but are as useless as they cannot knot a tie (the latter one, engineers just need to knot their sneakers) becomes less then 1:5 or so ?
Funny how in any type of escalation calls ,the people shouting the loudest "How can we help" are typically the most clueless and are running in the way or just wreaking havoc.
And yes in full disclosure, my aspiration for this year is to join the club of 'leaders' in order to ask the question how can I help, with knowing very well.. you cannot and continue to watch Netflix in the background

s/b 80%. So many staff doing nothing. No current TAC managers are needed actually. Not even eligible to be managers or leaders. They s/b gone.

True rumors about the 40% cut coming. Chuck wants to do this once and be done in one swing. Not a joke. 3 layers of hierarchy will taken out to flatten the org structure. No more L2 mgrs or directors reporting to directors with no reports, etc.

Gee people stop being gullible! Some anonymous muppet says 40% and y'all scream fire! Wait and see. Don't listen to rumors and don't amplify them. Simple really.

40%?? That doesn’t sound right. I thought only collab was to be impacted?

40% to be wacked. Better that what folks at twitter got. So be happy. Delayed till after the holidays. Be happy again, well until then.

I hear you. Not going anywhere until end-of-year due to what you say ... ESPP and RSUs. The RSUs are dwindling, so not really concerned about them after 2022. I want my ESPP though.

If I could make it to the New Year, that would be a nice Christmas (Ahhh!!! I said Christmas!!) bonus with RSUs and ESPPs coming to fruition in the interim. I've been apathetic about my position for some time, but these golden handcuffs have me sitting on my hands with regard to a job change.

Enjoy the holidays with a stable income. It's worse without a job

I'd rather not go through the holidays with layoffs looming over my head.
