I might put my entire quarterly dividend on an Oxy stock bet. On second thought I would rather use the money for the large fries with my cheeseburger.

Layoffs are happening after Chapter 11 that is happening tomorrow at 3:00. I received word of the chapter 11 from an extremely reliable source on the layoff.com. I'm investing my life savings shorting the stock because they guy who predicted chapter 11 seems pretty credible.

VH had the audacity to take a dig at Elon Musk. Absolutely ridiculous. Musk is putting humans in outer space and OXY can’t even find oil in a parking spot.

Are the layoffs due to jobs closed out or poor performance?

Don’t kid yourself layoffs are happening. Some in our department were let go nov 3 another group yesterday nov 17. It seems slow layoffs, small groups, and every other Tuesday are happening.

I cannot imagine anyone checking in on this blog other than employees and former employees. How many other companies do you review, get a life and some common sense, both of you last two posting.

Come on you can’t think the one who brilliantly modified John Lennon lyrics is the same one who uses naïveté as an adjective instead of a noun.

Also notice #13's ignorance by incorrectly conflating view counts and posting counts. This website is the place where thousands come to read the entertaining vitriol of a few dozen.

Look at the number of views on each post. You are very naïveté if you think 2000 views only have 10 to 20 people posting. You are lucky, ignorance is bliss!

From now on, I'll refer to you as #11, and the other guy as #13.

When you sign your CoC for LAPC... you sign an agreement to not talk ill of the company.

Please shed more light on this “agreement not to post”

The 10 to 20 people speak for the masses. Some people are bound by agreement not to post and others have better things to do.

hilarious that you think only 10-20 OXY employees are ticked off at OXY after the majority of legacy OXY took a 30% pay cut for 4 months. Not to mention legacy APC employees who hate this company since they are mad that they do not work for Chevron. Or could it be the thousands of shareholders who have had to hold the bag as our stock went from 47 down to 12 over the past year? Take your pick.

I agree with the comment below. I am beginning to think it's the same 10 or 20 disgruntled employees that do all the posting on this site.

When you say a lot of people want to leave, what does that even mean? This company has thousands of employees. Maybe it's just the people you hang around with.

I've had a couple of jobs over my career where I was not happy with the job or the company. It took me a month or two to find something else and I was gone. One I even took a cut in pay. I wasn't anywhere near as unhappy or angry as is reflected by the comments on this board. If you are this unhappy, quit and find something else. Try a different industry or different city or take a cut in pay.

A lot of people want to leave and are planning on it as soon as possible. I am sure in this market they are going to have to wait until a rebound occurs to do this. That said, OXY is going to have a really bad brain drain because it is not taking care of its employees. I bet this is the second year most employees will not even get an inflationary raise. Combine that with no bonus and a 30% salary cut legacy OXY employees took, most people I know want out. Then you hear about all these promotions for middle management and I think people have just had it with OXY.

If I am not mistaken, it's been well over a year since oxys financial issues began? Why not simply quit and go work for a company that you like better. I'm not trying to be argumentative, just asking the question.

I don't want t see Oxy go quickly either. Id like to see a nice drawn out and painful decline with perpetual uncertainty and 'nickel and dime' layoffs in to a none existent job market. We all know the people who have made Oxy what it is today deserve it after their track record. Just pulling the plug on those disgraceful employees would be too quick.

Paid down debt and met the 2020 divestitures, so that is good. Re-financed debt as well and that saved money, plus oil prices are on the rise and income and cash flow should be good if they stay like they are. Rog activity starting up in Colorado, Texas, New Mexico, and GOM. Stock also opens today at 12.67. A lot may hate Oxy, but I am here to the end as someone said earlier, so I might as well make the most of it. If oil can get on a roll Oxy will be able to pay the debt, so I really don't think we are near Chapter 11. Oxy has not drawn down on the line of credit. No all bad, and just so many hate working here makes things seem worse than it is.

On the downside is what happens to our Federal Leases when the new administration comes in. Only time will tell on that one. Add the extra corporate taxes and that will hurt as well. More regulation does not serve anyone that well, but Oxy does have a plan for LCV and it seems like that will help us with Wall Street and the politicians as well.
