Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Terminate 1,000 People Leaders First

Ford globally has too many People Leaders who add no value and drive bureaucracy / costs. Globally there are over 250 LL1 and LL2, over 1700 LL3 and LL4 and over 1900 LL5’s. If Farley wanted to cut waste and costs, he needs to look at his non-value added People Leaders. If Farley is going to terminate 8,000 Ford workers, he should start by terminating 1,000 People Leaders. But I have been at Ford for over 25 years and my bet is Farley will terminate the LL6’s and below. Replace them with high cost purchased service and agency heads, then give the LL5+ big bonuses for doing such a great job.

@ofq+1hULyCjC Mine is at his kid’s baseball game all afternoon today. Their work is just so important to Ford, all their personal activities come first. Of the 8,000 on the layoff list, at least 2,000 should be removed from LL ranks, otherwise the layoffs WILL HAVE NO POSITIVE IMPACT ON OUR BUSINESS!

The CX org created 13 LL5 positions last year. None with direct reports. How many Grade 8 skilled engineers would this pile of salaries and benefits pay for?

relevant question to stock symbol F versus stock symbol FB

quote:

Others couldn’t believe what they’d just heard. “Did Mark just say there are a bunch of people at this company that don’t belong here[?]” a staffer asked. Another responded: “Who hired them?”

wait, is this story about FB or F?

Well, mine was out playing GOLF all day yesterday, on company time, so apparently they aren’t critical to company performance.
