In the weeks I’ve been back, the store looks worse than a Walmart. Merchandise on the floor all over the store. I don’t even think thrift shops look
Like that. No help to recover.... the floor is a hot mess. Hey Jeffy, put in a baseball cap and a mask and make some impromptu appearances to some of your local stores. You’d probably be shocked to see the sh– hole some of these stores have become. Just close the stores if you’re not gonna bring them up to a standard that customers are used to shopping in. It’s a disgrace. Sad even. Stores look sad, colleagues look sad, managers look sad, the employees has lost their faith or shall I say “the magic”. I mean we all understand the decisions that need to be made but to keep people on a standstill waiting for two weeks to find out where their years of hard work is went....low

There is “No Magic “ anymore ... ive worked for this company for 35 yrs in the last 10 yrs is has gone downhill -fast- cutting store staff and sales assoc to skin n bones with more n more expectations - photos on Yammer , blk box ,scorecard that mean nothing and no support to fix the businesses that are That stores growth. As long as the top exec get their bonus’ thats all that matters!
It takes a genius level IQ to see that stores aren’t up to standard with what, 15-20% of the normal workforce back from furlough. But hey I’m sure if you owned your own business you’d have everything running smoothly after a pandemic. Relax, the whole world is trying to figure this out.
“pLeAsE bE kInD” get outta here, Macy’s has kept us in the dark for 3 months and counting. Keep playing your violin on the sinking Titanic that is the big M and see where that gets you...
10000000% true. I visited Macy's at Lenox Mall in "THE ATL" after Mother's Day weekend and it looked like Black Friday on steroids. Merchandise EVERYWHERE, sparce and defeated workers with few smiles...May be time for a change at the top that can lead them back...
Of course I work in the store. DUH! You must have a smaller store. Mine is HUGE with less than 25% of workforce back.
This comment it dead on ! 👏👏👏
Do you work in the stores? Because yes we don't look up to standards but my store looks pretty darn good considering. And our team is happy to be back. We tried to bring back the most positive and flexible colleagues. We are proud at how our store is doing, how it looks and how our team feels. Better than overcover Boss would be them actually coming into stores to HELP not spy. Our magic score has been 85-90 since we've been back. Sales are being estimate. Credit is great. We are all working out asses off to ensure we are recovered. But we are proud and happy!
@nwf+15CoMaY5 the fact that you who is self qurantined would risk your parents lives to get your kid a birthday gift that you could of easily just ordered online without potentially exposing your parents who are most likely at a higher risk of contracting covid is DUMB
I’m on furlough... in self quarantine. My mother and father went to purchase gifts for my son’s birthday. BEAUTIFUL. ORGANIZED. HELPFUL. FRIENDLY. :)
Thanks for responding! Yes, our store gets like that too. There is no help and they expect sales and recovery must be top-notch. Impossible. Be safe!
I have been on furlough since the beginning. I want to go back to work. I love my Macy’s family and I love working for Macy’s. Please be kind. To all the overpaid, lazy, embittered, angry employees. .. please leave.
New York.
Undercover boss would be beneficial to the company right now. They NEED to see this first hand! I’m not joking on how bad our stores look.
It’s not the leadership that’s the problem, our store manager has been ringing customers. Our sales managers ringing. Customers are expectant of having someone service them and are disappointed to see the lack of customer service available. I’ve never seen my store look like this even in Q4
Hi so sorry you have to go through this! Undercover boss might be a thought. What state?
