Globalization destroys American jobs, we need to work smarter together. When the American worker can't buy the products that American companies are selling, what happens to the precious profits? The fact that you add a # "hashtag" to your post indicates you are a young person or a very clueless individual. I hope that you are not employed with Verizon, but unfortunately it would not surprise me if you were.
Greed is interwoven in the American dream. Union or non-union we all want our piece. I support the union standing up for what they think they deserve. In the meantime VZ is paying me triple my normal weekly pay, putting me up in a hotel in the greatest city on the planet and paying all of my meals and expenses. I'm taking my piece and expect at some point they'll sack my assjust like they do with many others each quarter right before numbers come out. Then I take my college education and the certifications that they paid for and I move on to the next job, or maybe I start my own business with my bankroll from them and my 'layoff' package. I'm hoping the union breaks the corporate bastards by staying out for many months.

@agd, listen up my little millenial c0ck str0ker. Wireline paid for the creation of VZ Wireless, as it made 0, ZERO, ZIP, ZILCH dollars for the first 5-7 years of its existence. Wireline still bears the brunt of the long list of unsuccessful wireless investments. If the remainder of wireline is ever sold off, this will be out in the open and investors will begin to disappear just like scabs such as yourself.

LOL, union members didn't build the company. The company is 75% wireless which has no unions in technical positions. The only thing the unions have done is drag down the profits in wireline and cause problems every two years when they demand more entitlements.
The union is a problem, plain and simple. It's just a less significant problem now that wireline is shrinking and isn't the main focus of the company.

It is likely one of the H1B foreigners or some Wireless snowflake that really needs to work in a less stressful, non-judgemental environment where everybody hugs and sings kumbaya at lunch time.
What the OP does not realize is that they have far less value to Verizon than almost anyone in the union. You can hire any idiot with a bachelors degree, but there are not as many techs now as there used to be.
