@nm engineers can’t run the plant. Zero leverage on that regard. Operators are good at what they do. What’s concerning is the made in Malaysia monitoring sheets and made in India designs with inherently incorrect foundations, interpretation, and recommendations. Sure to blow something up one of these days.

@nm
Hahaha that’s hilarious!! “Engineers run that plant”. I’ve never met an engineer that’s came to site that could run a sharp stick up a dead dogs a-s lol
Having more MPT staff on site has very little to do with union leverage!

@pn they care. Clearly you’ve never worked at a site. Stay in Calgary.

@pc They don’t care at all. Anyways they are in front line facing safety risks all the all. Blue collar doesn’t care about white collar’s jobs at all.

@nm Ops should be more concerned about the LTA imported engineering being done that could result in a significant safety issue.

Ops is doing this now because they will has less leverage once QP moves there: when ops strike, engineers run the plant, more engineers at site means less leverage for the union.

It’s just a matter of time before many of the operator positions are replaced by automation and robotics. Strike away

They should absolutely strike... management won't be able to get any willing scabs now that they've confirmed what they actually value MPT as aka a big ol' zero.

If there's a strike at Strathcona, would all the newly moved Quarry Park people be locked out of site? Imagine impacting Cold Lake and Kearl operation due to Strathcona strikes... gives a lot more leverage to the union. BTW if Nanticoke strikes Strathcona is also locked out to prevent retaliatory actions.
