Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Rumor about HR

Is it true that 60% of HR got promoted? I cant believe that it is that high, but this site has been crickets since their announcements.

Seriously, they truly deserve more than what they get.

Catching up with this board while I take a sh1t is no joke.

I like to troll the layoffs boards and I occasionally pretend that I have a life by cracking a few pathetic bathroom jokes and use the classic teen comeback "you're like, projecting, man, like uuh like, man", and I give away my lack of a life or friends by claiming the false" this amuses me" and "entertains me" defense. In actuality, the layoff site IS my life. That's why I'm triggered and embarrassed when posters like @1yqe can read me like the boring book that I am.

Yah actually I do troll the layoff board for amusement while I’m taking a huge and leisurely dump. The biitching and mooaning about posts that don’t mention the topic of layoff and the posts about friendless posters make me LOL and really gets the load moving.

“until of course you discover the rest of the internet and maybe even find some real friends”…. Self project is so obvious, and sort of sad. Some day you will recover from being laid off and will be able to move on. Start by moving on and letting everyone else have the range of conversation they prefer.

HR functions live inside other businesses which have limits on promos. No function has their own rules except Law.

Good luck trolling here! We all hope you are finding whatever it is you’re looking for. LOL!!!

@1gvt. that's so nice that you are amused. Do you generally troll the layoff's boards to get amused or do you have no other life or any social life to speak of and work is a substitute? You can see a therapist about that. It's not uncommon. Good luck with your problem.

Yes, exceptional well, and independently wealthy to boot! No longer work for the man, "Bro" lmao. The price of oil is no concern to me. Enjoy all your shaves and your forever home here, until of course you discover the rest of the internet and maybe even find some real friends????

@1mxw: doing so exceptional well in your new life that you just can stop trolling your former employer’s layoff chat room… ya that’s believable! Get a shave and start looking for work. The price of oil is up and new opportunities are finally becoming available again. In this industry there is always a boon after the bust.

The “you have no friends and that must be why you’re posting here” post is particularly amusing given the fact that it seems to be the same person who points to everyone else about their lack of friends and of trolling this site. Makes one think that it’s the accuser without the friends and whom perhaps is the actual troll?

@1boa, Why, Do you need a new position? It must su-k to be always disgruntled and unfulfilled. I'm doing exceptionally well since I left, higher pay, benefits, fewer hours, everything. you should try it, since you love trolling the layoff boards so much and seem to know every poster. Must be a sign.

ID: @net: same boring comment on every thread: still no luck finding a new position? You might be obsessed with the wrong website?

It's nice that the employees at Chevron with no friends have a place to chat anonymously with others also without friends, online or otherwise and get in line to be laid off, where they belong.

Is the BU target usually as high as 10%? Seems high! Was glad to have gotten a promo this year but missed out last few years.

Definitely not 60% but a lot. Money doesn't matter when the function treats people like cr-p and doesn't trust anyone. This is a temporary Band-Aid and everyone who got promoted will forget about it in a month or 2, and be just as disgruntled.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but a promotion won't help the fact that the HR leaders and PDRs are horrible and the environment they have created is toxic. It's kind of like m@sturbation...feels good at first until you realize that you're only f*#k!ng yourself.

Promoted or laid off? I thought this was the layoff website. My bad!

impossible. BU guidance was 10%. IT was higher than that, but there's no way HR was 60%.

Not sure about the number, but a ton of them got promos. They are trying to stop the bleeding with their good people.
