majority white private company hire h1's and use them as front line soldiers during early layoffs. It's such a shame.

Which BU you're in? Our chapter leader's are our tech leads. Even our squad leaders write code and documentations.

I reported something to HR and they swept it under the rug. I’m about to also be a whistleblower too.

HR already made my work life he-l, what else can they do? I have nothing to lose now.

Re: "no qualified Americans in the pipeline", met a neighbor who used to work for Fidelity and without being asked she shared why she left: "There were too many Idians".

Fidelity's reputation as a "99% H1-b shop" has been cemented for years, only the mediocre or the eager Americans would even consider Fidelity. Isn't that sad?

Of course, I'm the upper mediocre who can easily outperform my fellow coworkers, idians or not.

HR places a diversity value on noncitizens, which is nuts and a total perversion of the intent.

Imagine, bringing in a culture that is entirely based on discrimination as means of promoting diversity.

American STEM graduate unemployment is the highest it’s been in decades.

Also, our brightest students won’t go into STEM if the system following graduation favors Indians and discriminates against American citizens. Which, it does.

I also know for a fact that HR filters out White men for interviews.

Some VPs have a mix of people, others are virtually 100% Indian.

I want to see a more aggressive replacement policy putting in place, starting with those 100% teams. Stack ranking current team members and replace with fresh graduates. Let the existing team member train the young while at it. But then my post was deleted : (

Agree with below post. I have been on several software engineering interview panels, and most applicants are on visas. But I am starting to see a positive shift with more diverse internship candidates, so hopefully tech hiring will broaden in coming years

I am Indian origin CL and had two reqs open last year for Sr Engineers. I had made up mind that I will be hiring atleast one American out of those 2 reqs. I reviewed 100s of resume. Interviewed 15 + candidates and found only two white Americans even to clear first round and both were 2 and half and 3 years of experience. Now tell me how could I hire them for Sr Engineer role even if I wanted to hire atleast one badly. Other candidates had 10+ experience and could clear all 3 technical rounds.

Its not always black and white. Algae eating cake is good example but in real life Americans should be more serious towards gaining skills so teill help them get hired.

I agree that newer generations with CS and other degrees will be ready in few years (assuming they get jobs now in AI world) where we wont need outsiders but until then even if we want to , we cannot eliminate other nationals.

@mj caste is horrific. The fact this is likely going on at Fido is not a good look for AJ.

Whistleblower right over target.

I now know more about caste and Brahmin than I ever need to in one lifetime.

Definitely concerning.

@cj, yes it is not political. The left and right are coming to consensus that it is a national, cultural and ecological threats. It's just the extreme right dares to speak their minds.

Like the Asian carps, they're were brought in for a specific purpose (eating the excess algae) yet that invasive and non-assimilative nature has go out of control. They're eating the cake.

To all making this political. Look up, not right or left. Those in power are to blame for this, not your fellow coworkers. Not matter their skin color or nation of origin, they are simply partaking in an economic exchange for their life betterment. ONLY those in power who make decisions that affect your life are to blame.
