Anyone else see this on Fox News? Wonder what Tucker Carlson would make of Ican and JV's rebadging and asking their American employees to train their replacement?

No, these guys behave in a manner that puts cash in their pockets. When you are pulling down north of $20m per year, it’s easy not to care what anyone thinks.
Getting the story to a news source would be helpful because quite often when there is media looking directly at an issue, the parties behave in a manner becoming of the American public.
Don't you think so?
How would getting this story to a news source be helpful? Helpful how? BTW you have some fact wrong. Fox viewership is exploding right now and CNN is in a free fall decline.
1) agree but the reality is most of the lost jobs ARE blue collar. Just because you aren’t manufacturing doesn’t mean you are white collar. I see blue collar as those folks selling, doing IT, accounting, payables as included in the blue collar bucket.
2) getting this story into an actual news source would be helpful. There is a growing number of people avoiding Fox for news due to their lack of balance and criticizing the network for not censuring Han*ity and the “judge”. But if it starts with Tucker, so be it. The story needs to be told.
In my opinion, there are no politicians who care about white collar jobs. They will talk for hours about trying to bring blue collar jobs that left decades ago back but they completely ignore the white collar jobs that continue to leave by the tens of thousands. Many large companies are offshore jobs to a variety of countries. Xerox has sent procurement jobs to Poland, accounting jobs to Manila, IT to India and everything else they could to Guatemala. When the large companies have the offshore model perfected, they will sell the model to mid-sized companies.
UB did this to 1/2 of engineering in 2011/2012. You never saw much about it in the news back then. Seemed like she was untouchable.
This is a great development.
The media has not been fooled by the way AT&T has behaved.
Please, everyone needs to share this post, share the news coverage, share the link, get it out there.
Xerox's actions need to be exposed as the unacceptable business practice s they are.
Of course they don’t care about fixing the company. They are smart enough to see it cannot be fixed. And like a typical whiney sheep, you call my comments dumb without answering my question. Nobody needing employment likes outsourcing/offshoring, and I agree the practice is borderline unpatriotic. But it was enabled by education and technology and it it here to stay in the short term. Learn to succeed within this structure or don’t. Whining to Tucker Carlson will not change anything. Carl is a Corporate raider. That’s what he does. It’s legal, he profits. This is not some conspiracy being uncovered. It’s business. Prior weak leaders made XRX a target. That is who to blame.
I am the original poster. Post was written in response to Tucker Carlson's investigation of AT&T, rebadging American FTE's and forcing them to train offshored replacements not to rehash the sins of past...
Yes, change is necessary but the changes that have been made within XRX since Feb 2018 at the hand of Carl Icahn has been for his own personal gain, not the health and welfare of XRX, its employees and clients! End of report, end of story.
Should have included these in my original post - e: tucker.carlson@foxnews.com |charles.couger@foxnews.com
@1qxq+13PNRFuS the only one with myopic perspective is you. Put your glasses on if you cannot see what’s happening. The new leadership is out to pillage the company, it’s a corporate raid. They don’t care about you or fixing the company. They don’t care about the shareholders or the employees. They want to dump the company and dump everyone for more money. Your comments are dumb - I’m sorry to say.
I would like the OP to explain how to keep an employee base scaled for a $18b company with $9b of revenue and a consistent and accelerating revenue decline.
Don't hold your breath. AT&T are the owners of CNN and have a target on their backs in the eyes of conservative pundits. The rationalization would be that "old XRX" was run by noted (D) donors so Icahn & Deason - fine upstanding (R) donors that they are - aren't doing anything that isn't justifiable.
Post ID: @mfo+13PNRFuS THANK YOU for posting this and sending it. This is an EXCELLENT post!!!
Nope. Myopic view and you left out how the UB years and adventure into services set the stage for what is happening now. It’s so easy to criticize current management without offering an alternative. So what if JJ was well liked? Revenue has been in decline for years, and nobody did anything...
Author, Incredible article!. This should have been sent to the media long ago. Time to fight back against that old sack of sh– Icahn.
@mgo
Love the passion
Great post!!!!
Thanks for taking the time!
The post below is a phenomenal recap/summary. Definitely copy and pasted it to myself.
@1ub+13PNRFuS
What I sent Tucker Carlson and the producer, Charles Couger this morning. I am sure my post will be deleted from here!
AT&T is not the only “American” company who quietly rebadged employees to offshore organizations to avoid paying unemployment and severance packages. Take a look at Xerox and what’s been going on inside the company since corporate raider Carl Icahn launched his attack on the 110-year old company in January 2018.
Carl Icahn and his goons have decimated what Xerox built for 110-years. He ousted Xerox’s then popular CEO, Jeff Jacobson, replacing him with one of his puppets, John Visentin.
Visentin knew (still doesn’t) nothing about Xerox’s business but one could say the same when HP was forced to write off $8BIL of its $11BIL spent acquiring EDS with” Johnny Vas---ne” at the helm. Visentin managed to run Pitney Bowes Management Services (PBMS) wildly successful spinoff Novitex Enterprise Solutions in the ground just 12-months after being fired by HP President, Meg Whitman in 2012.
By the summer of 2018, Visentin announced Xerox and its wholly owned subsidiary, Global Imaging Systems (GIS) would begin operating in unison in lieu of being competitors; even though the companies were (still are) competitors.
And so, it began… Offering current Xerox (XRX) FTE’s positions within the newly renamed GIS company, Xerox Business Solutions (XBS) in lieu of laying them off to avoid paying severance and unemployment if you did not accept the newly offered position.
By 2019, Visentin launched “Project Own It” which he told Wall Street would save the company $1.5BIL by combining services between XRX and XBS, that was code for “we are rebadging 6,000 FTE’s to HCL to avoid paying severance and unemployment. Oh, and avoid reporting layoffs to the SEC because granddaddy Icahn needs XRX stock to get to $40 per share. So, in a declining market Xerox stock was soaring…. Code for “Icahn's goons were cooking the books.”
Weekly layoffs with morale at an all-time low, waiting to be laid off while training your replacement with HCL. Meanwhile, all back-office functions at Xerox turned into a complete disaster with long standing customers cancelling contracts as a result.
Never mind, it took (3) three HCL employees to perform the work of (1) one Xerox employee so what is the net cost savings to Xerox? Cancelled contracts with (3) three times the offshore personnel managing what had been managed for 110-years in the US.
Icahn was busy behind the scenes, ending Xerox’s 56-year relationship with Fuji. Quietly purchasing Hewlett Packard (HPQ) stock but keeping the stock acquisition just under 5% to avoid reporting to the SEC. Plotting and scheming his next move with the goons he’d placed at Xerox’s helm.
Within days of the Fuji-Xerox announcement, ending a 56-year relationship with Xerox being paid $2BIL for cutting ties with their biggest R&D partner, XRX made its first offer to acquire HPQ. An $8BIL company wants to acquire a $24BIL company? WHAT?
HPQ rejected all (5) five offers XRX has made thus far in November 2019, December 2019, January 2020, February 2020 and their final threat of a hostile takeover in March 2020.
Icahn and Visentin have bullied, insulted and manipulated HPQ’s leaders and BOD while trying to force HPQ to accept their offer. It’s an embarrassing really but it’s what they do best, bully and force companies and their employees to accept their offer even when it’s not in the best interest of the organization and its employees! Wait for it…. …. They do it because it’s in their best interest!
HPQ has stood strong and was forced to take drastic measures with a stock buyback plan along with adopting a “poison pill” plan to stave off XRX’s hostile takeover of their company.
While Xerox rebadged 6000 FTE’s to avoid paying severance and unemployment, they’ve spent $83,000 a day pursuing the HPQ acquisition and overpaid it’s CEO by $11MIL in 2019.
As stated in the first sentence; AT&T is not the only “American” company who adopted offshoring to India! Please, I am begging you to continue investigating American companies like Xerox who have adopted the same business practices while tossing out longstanding tenured employees like they were day old bread.
The only difference between Carl Icahn and a bank robber; he does not carry a g-n and wear a mask when he commits crimes!
