Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Were you or someone you know laid off today?

Let's start a new thread. If you or someone you know someone who was laid off today, please mention the department/position so we can get visibility to whether or not today is the day.

Also, is there a group on LinkedIn for former Schwabbies? If not, we should create one so we can help each other recover and find jobs.

The decision issued on February 21, 2023 by the NLRB restricts companies from demanding silence from laid-off employees through confidentiality, non-disclosure, and non-disparagement provisions in their severance agreements.

Google it.

There seems to be people missing from accounting, sts, UX, ds, project services, and probably more.

Oh - so you can't tell anyone you were laid off and they dr-g you thru the ringer - bs - have they hired staff to track all those that are laid off. Sure don't do any posting on the schwab devices - but your own and if you are smartly anonymous - they don't have enough people or brains to sort thru all of the comments here

It's all literally laid out in the Schwab severance policy, so I would suggest you familiarize yourself with it because the Company will certainly hold you to it if you're one of those impacted.

I would heed this person's advice and make sure you aren't posting anything that can get you identified. We know they are monitoring these boards...they've made mentions to it themselves. And if they can find a reason to not have to pay you everything you're entitled to, they absolutely will. So wait until after your 60 days + your lump payouts before you really let it all out.

@ybj+1nTnk7RN. How do you know what may violate your severance - have you already received the package? Or do you work for Schwab and are a snitch or HR person just reading the boards and reporting

Reminder, posting dates when you were let go, how many were on your team, and what groups you are in may make you identifiable and could be a violation of company policy and may put employment rights (60 days) or severance at additional risk vs being terminated for misconduct. That is of course assuming, they could actually pin it back on you vs someone that knows about you or your situation.
