Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

the big ole package

the whole thing is a scam... they first send you a email baiting you with what you are getting then they send a 2nd cryptic adobe thing that says you cant sue them or anyone at the company if you sign it.. yet it gives no details on health insurance, extended discounts, PTO, or pension Info at all.. its like they bait you with the money so you blindly sign it..

Unless you have have a legitimate claim of wrongful termination, sign the agreement.
They don’t have to offer u a severance. If you live in Massachusetts and sign the waiver it doesn’t effect your unemployment.

So... is the severance money counterfeit? It's a standard severance contract just like every year before and next years as well when it happens again.

Yep, can’t view unless it’s signed! That’s typical Macy’s Shady way of doing Biz! I’m contacting an attorney along with possible OSHA case dating back to March, getting laid off proves retaliation along with discrimination.

I had No problem viewing it it opened right up and all the info you need is in the link they sent you when they emailed you your severance amount when you were laid off. I could see hiring a lawyer to read it if you are in corporate, but if you are hourly changed are your not getting alot back so you should feel lucky that your even getting anything just sign it and stop complaining

I'm looking for an inexpensive lawyer to take a look. I do find it odd that the severance they want you to sign has nothing on what you'll get. Not sure if it's supposed to be like that. It's all new to me.

Companies are not required to offer severance packages. Signing a legal document stating you agree to the package offering and will not sue at a later date is a standard practice Be grateful ... take the money and move on.

I you don't sign the adobe legal terms & conditions, then you cannot even view the severance. Very Shady.
