Thread regarding Saudi Aramco layoffs

Aramco Camp

Seems burglaries, robberies and petty thefts on camp are now an issue.

Aramco PR in overdrive, “keep your item safe” type nonsense.

What’s the deal?

Just buy a game g-n and keep it in a safe place. The locals all have we-pons available for a rainy day.

Summer time. Maybe returning students looking for some b00ze to party. Used to be common so lock your refreshments away!

It’s probably an inside job.
Saudisation comes with its costs.

If thieves can sneak in from outside the camp to rob residents, I wonder what would stop a group of te------ts from doing much, much worse?

Most are Aramco employees. There are a few yellow contractor badged security guards inside the camp "guarding" the schools and medical facilities. I think a few hands being chopped for stealing would probably put an end to it. One can always wish for the good old days.

I heard that the security guards are no longer Aramco employees. It used to be that the guards lived right on camp, so they were literally defending their homes. Now?

They always go up in the summer when school is out.

Same as it ever was. I remember people investing in fancy gate locks and indoor security bars during my time there. Oh, and there were plenty of burglaries with not much follow up information from security.
