I've seen that several states have implemented a ban on sale of non-essential items - which I think is a great idea. We have way too many shoppers who are just shopping for fun and not out of necessity. Now, I know for a fact Walmart had to tape off some of their sections in Michigan. Have any of our stores in those states followed suit? Or did Marvin find a way to wiggle out of that one as well?

Says the genius who designs these models in his spare time from his parents basement and wearing a tinfoil hat! Just so you understand, the "Flu" has a death rate of 1/10th of 1%. Corona has a death rate of over 2%. So the bottom line is we've only just begun this pandemic, and Corona has a 10 to 14 day incubation time and then there are the people who a asymtomatic and will show no sign of illness but will transmit to others. On the plus side social distancing seems to be working. The bottom line is you are part of the problem, so maybe you should, in your words, "wake the hell up"!
The models have all been significantly wrong,(thank God). The 100K to 240K potential deaths as a result of the virus were based on everyone following the guidelines payed out by the government. Like said thank God they were wrong. But the models were wrong. There have been a lot of very big decisions based on those models.

The extent of your ignorance is quite impressive. Recorded stats for USA on 4/14/20 were 26945 new cases and 2407 new deaths. And while the curves may be showing some slight signs of flattening in select areas, for the overall US it is still increasing. There are many "models" being used but without the extreme measures that were implemented by most states combined with actual compliance the death toll was projected to be well into the hundreds of thousands. The only reason the numbers are thus far lower is because the actual compliance percentage and duration has exceeded what was projected. If you think otherwise perhaps it would be a good time for you to plan a vacation to New York, New Jersey and Louisiana (assuming you last that long).
For the rest of you that are more enlightened about your facts, a very good website for tracking the progress of COVID-19 for both the US and other countries is:

A Lowe’s in Texas stopped selling French ticklers
I saw a news report Vermont that showed a Lowe's flooring department roped off with caution tape. We can't sell many things online at my store which results in customers coming into the store or calling on the phone. They get real b–chy when you tell them we're out of stock on freezers and we can't load mulch into your car, trunks only, not inside.
Yeah, mulch, paint, and freezers are essential (for hoarders maybe).

If the economy didn't have six months of savings then maybe the economy should have picked up a part time job or put in overtime. No sympathy for those who refuse to pull themselves up by their bootstraps.
PS For the older demographics in Italy the death rate is 30%. No big deal though right?
of course you think its a good idea. you want control over peoples lives. have you done any research whatsoever on how poorly constructed the models were that they used to come up with how deadly this virus might be??? doubt it. well, soon, if this keeps up....you will be living under a chinese style dictatorship. economy is dying quickly. wake the hell up people. this virus was no where near as deadly as was claimed.
