I too was laid off on October 1, 2014 after 20yrs!
Bail out now. I went to the public sector long ago and never looked back.
So are we done for the year for layoffs???? I have heard we are done for 2024. And I also heard Tuesday after payday in November and Tuesday after payday in December. Thoughts or comments?
This is a company that never did any internal acknowledgment of the woman that was found deceased after 4 days in AZ. Also the company that exhibits favoritism to higher leadership that has the right connections to be exempt from this location strategy and be allowed to stay on remote. This is the company that started calling team members “employees”. This is the company that changed from quarterly 401k match to annual when new CEO came on board. This is the company that altered severance package 4 years ago quietly when New CEO came on board. WF has been planning this all for some time now. It’s sad, used to be a great bank to work for.
garbage company no one is safe, unless your the ceo and his puppets what a it show.
Are these people that trigger internal investigstions over stupid mundane things? If so, thank god that drama is gone
I was displaced today because I would not relocate. I was remote for more than 20 years.
Finance Model Governance got hit - maybe 1/3 of the team - Well done by Wells Management - Getting people out before the 401K match - Kinda feel like they stole my money :(
I got my wish today and I can't stop smiling. In Tech.
Fortunately I don't need to work, but I feel for anyone who was let go and still needs a job. Best of luck to everyone.
Conduct Management just got hit...
CTO under Brady hit with location strategy layoffs.
@vww McLean? CLT?
Please me! 15 months of pay sounds heavenly!!
I would love to be...away, doing anything besides hearing this Fool clearing their throat every two seconds ALL. EFFING. DAY!!!!
Unless a severance period will tide you over until retirement, I caution against hoping for a layoff. Can you weather six to twelve months of being unemployed?
I would love to get laid off. I'm in my 40s and doing well.
Tech group in VA impacted
@nsu+1uMPGX5n Depends on your situation. If you're close to retirement and have a bunch of years of service, severance can be close to a year. There are a few folks I know have basically taken it as their time to call it quits.
If you're younger, yeah, probably don't want to get laid off b/c there are many reports of people having challenges finding new gigs.
Saw something the other day that many H1-Bs folks lost their visas b/c of so many lay offs in the IT world.
What time do people get notified?
Op - you are really stupid if you think it is lucky to be laid off.
Is it really lucky for everyone? I don’t think so 🤔
I'll take the winning lotto numbers, and a 60 day vacay. Lay me off today. Just do it. Jobs will be a bit easier to find in December. Then I will be drawing my severance I earned, and drawing Holiday pay. Then I'll find a real new permanent job in January, 2025. Then, I will still be drawing 12 more months of severance. Happy Holidays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. Today is a good day to displace me.
