Paul keeps saying we are over staffed. Please explain why we are we forced to work 50 hours if we are over staffed. Our Senior Audit Manager said it will be this way at least through Q2. Talking to other audit teams they are all saying brace yourself. Staffing issues all the way around and not hiring when people leave. Good luck guys.

Today’s joke… guys we cannot mandate 50 hours but you have to get the work done so it remains. What a bunch of clowns.
No time to properly train audit staff and no money for outside seminars, conferences, continuing education, etc.
I long for the days when I only had 50 hours work weeks.
All the talented people left audit. They ran through too many people. Happened years ago.
It’s mostly trash left over or trash from other banks. Skills are definitely lacking. Critical thinking is lacking.
Nothing is more painful than a LAM that AICs - especially one the AICs more than SLAM

I’m not in Audit but they need a cr-p ton more Audit folks to find some of the real problems that exist and not currently being caught or addressed by Control and IRM.
Compliance and IT are just as bad as CL and CSBB. It is not slowing down anytime for them either. It a huge cluster ####.
There are way too many layers of audit management that are useless and staff that do not have skills needed. It is a joke. Wells hires way too many auditors that have not audited a day in their life. No time to train them either. AICs have no time and barely stop sh$t from hitting the fan. Unless they are new AICs then enjoy the sh$tshow. You will need lots of popcorn for all the drama.
It also depends on your Audit team. If you’re waiting for things to slow down in CSBB or CL well I have a bridge in Brooklyn for you
Dang back when I was in audit we had less than 800 people. But that was also right before the sales practice stuff. I'm sure that added a lot of audit staff.
1,644 auditors though? Wow.
AICs have historically been the hardest role within audit. You take your lumps then hopefully luck into a senior audit manager job. That role is gonna be tough no matter what the staffing looks like
It’s all roles. SLAMs rarely work less than 50. So you know they will be working 60+ now.
What’s your role? If it’s a SLAM then I mean…you signed up for that. Nobody could pay me enough to take on that role.
When Paul says audit is over staffed that means he is trying to keep audit from experiencing layoffs. It’s easier to grind what you have than add people and cut from other teams
