Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Why are you so depressed

when you can just leave? __________I would not want anyone to interpret my question as provocative nor would I want to offend anyone, but I have noticed that people who realistically have a great chance of finding very good jobs elsewhere, stay in this ridiculous company as if they have a Stockholm syndrome. I came, I quickly realized that this company was not for me and in a very, very short time I found a new job. I’m counting down my last days here because I didn’t choose to stay here, be depressed, and not try to find anything better.

When you are already making above the market average, have 6 weeks vacation, and enjoy the work and people, it's hard to leave and find something comparable. Yes the writing may be on the wall for the future if the company, but many will try and ride it out until retirement or close to it.

Not everybody is in that same position, many many lifers are.

Dear @kvg+1cDnIMXi. Sorry to break it to you but what you describe is the definition of layoff material…. You should keep looking.

I've been applying else where here as well but it's pretty competitive here. Along with the fact over the past couple months my responsibilities had slowly gone away, and I'm now at the point where it's been weeks since I've had to do any work. No direct manager, and no sign of being laid off. livin la vida loca

As bad as things have gotten, Xerox workers are very loyal to a fault. That is the simple answer. Although Xerox has lost its magic the bulk of the workforce remain committed.

for those of us who remember, we all want to see the proud Xerox we remember... its depressing to see how many recent leaders have not really had the vision but just a separation package and a resume checkbox... we keep hoping... but I think that ship has sadly sailed..

Xerox is now attracts the bottom of the barrel talent, so they stay because no one else wants them.

I am looking currently, for my mental sanity I need to get out, they outsourced all the work but GD sales keeps writing deals whers it's a requirement for everything to be handled local.....HELLO the freaking work was transitioned, who the he-l is going to do it onshore?? I cannot handle one more thing on my plate, it's beyond ridiculous.
Xerox, put us out of our misery and either lay us off or let us go!!!

In my area it’s tough to find a job that pays compatible to what I make. I’ve been looking for months and have applied to several jobs but I just can’t seem to land one
