Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Anyone know the rate at which we accrue PTO?

I have no idea how fast we accrue our vacation time. I knew I'd owe some (I had just taken a few day vacation two weeks prior) but I wasn't expecting my entire 1 week paycheck to be taken.

Look in the employee handbook.

I had asked many people including district over the years how do we accrue time and no one would ever tell me. It was always "oh I don't know " and brush me off.

keep in mind… personal and sick days are not paid out and only earned holidays not taken will be paid.

@kfw. You should always know how much accrued vacation you have and how it's accrued. Treat this as a learning lesson.

Well, just calculated it and they took two extra days from me so now I have to deal with more BBB BS.

Thank you. I did sign and agree to it, however, they didn't tell us what we have or didn't. Had to wait for the paystub to hit ADP to even find out. Just BBB continuing to not communicate.

Take the total number of days you get and divide by 12. That is how many you earn per month is salary. If hourly divide total hours by 12. Then multiply by the months of service prior to termination.

Example: 80 hours divided by 12 months is 6.67 hours earned per month x 8 months = 53.33 hours earned. Any taken in excess will be deducted from your last check. You should have signed and agreed to this per policy at your separation.
