Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

I feel bad for our branch teams

I’m in Service Division, which just hired 15 or so new employees, at the same time offering several of us VSP. These new employees will not know all the nuances that we more tenured associates (13 years for me) know in assisting the branches with a not so intuitive system. I was thinking of going back to be a BOA but honestly, I don’t believe service to branch teams will be good.

@19j I understand, and getting rid of the seasoned employees and hiring new ones, as they are doing, is only making it worse. It takes quite awhile for new employees to come up to speed. If this isn’t about money, what’s it about? Third world class service?

Something certainly needs to change for the field. When you get a person from HO that knows what they’re doing, it’s like winning the lottery! But that is few and far between these days.

@k5 But full time employees (not contractors) are being hired at the home office, 15 plus in my group alone, which only one part of the Service Division.

@ax they hired contractors in that facility, not full-time associates

Branch teams are not gonna be happy with offshore/alorica service which will have no buy in or even an ounce of care about what “culture” is left. They are gonna be screaming and it will bite EC in the a$$.
They billed this “skill up” and Service reinvention but it’s just making room for US Bank taking over most of Banking and Alorica associates coming in. Smoke and Mirrors

I’m thinking this too. We are told that it will get better but I’m not so sure.

I heard from Lisa Dolan that we signed an agreement with a call center in Tucson, AZ. Did they actually hire HO employees? And yeah, you’re right. Losing the depth & breadth of knowledge in Service will absolutely su-k.
