If non physical products don't count, they should.

They have value too.

And they represent the loss of American jobs as much as building a car overseas and bringing it into the US.

If GM Korea sends a car to the US, does GM have to pay a tariff?

If they do, it should be the same if they send software they wrote to the US.

"If they move jobs to Mexico they'll have to pay Trump's new 20 percent tariffs if they want to bring product into the US."

WRONG. Outsourced products get the tariff.

"Reports, spreadsheets, software, research, anything that a worker creates and moves across the border."

Cite your source. If that were true, our overseas salary white collar workers are in big trouble. You need to prove this though. The only thing I'm aware of that gets a tariff is a psychical product made somewhere else. If a GM Brazil or Korean employee works on auto designs or software, I do not believe this counts.

Organized labor worked much better imo before the days of mass transit where plants could be located across the globe, internet allowed fast/efficient communication and education become available to many countries.

Before doing that organized labor imo you have to ask yourself ‘do I really have a unique set of skills or does my team that can’t be easily replaced elsewhere’? Even if replacement isn’t overnight it could be over a few years time if you make too many demands (I.e. UAW workers). And I’m not trying to say we shouldn’t have standards but before making demands imo we should understand where we stand in the market as a whole.

And product isn't just cars.

It's everything of value that crosses the border, even over the internet.

Reports, spreadsheets, software, research, anything that a worker creates and moves across the border.

If the company plays games and says it has no value, it will be declared public domain material and released to the public for use by anyone who wants to use it.

Trump has thought of everything.

If you organize, Mary will move every salary job to Mexico.
EVERY SALARY JOB!
If you don't believe me, look to Stellantis.
They will shut us down so hard...

The reality is folks the only way to achieve a semblance of job security is the fed approved way - organize and bargain collectively.

My 2025 CAP was set and submitted in workday on Monday.

And on Friday, I was told about this separation.

Never before I was told that I am in bottom 5%

How does anyone expect all layoffs on Jan 24 in all groups? SMH
Of course this will continue... and we are only WFH on Mondays and Fridays.
It's all but a certainty that there will be many more let go Monday the 27th and Friday the 31st. Let's be real. COMMON SENSE!!!

Our manager sent a message to most of our department to schedule our Cap meetings after earnings. Interestingly the message didn’t go to all team members. Watching to see if anything happens to those that weren’t on the distribution.

It doesn't hurt to post links to other sites.

Not everyone visits even "popular" sites.

If you've already seen this information, then just quietly move on to your next thing.

Yeah, you don't need to steal content from reddit. We all have access to it. Especially since far fewer people use this site.

Confirms my suspicion:
They aren't going to bring people into a huddle room during reviews to do the cutting.
They are (cowards) just going to send text messages on a WFH day.

If they offer you a PIP or a severance, do the quick math. A PIP is three months.
Same amount of money, only with the PIP version, you work for a company that wants to fire you. NO THANKS. Almost everyone knows PIPs are not survivable.
