One moment everything feels stable, and then it’s just gone. It’s hard not to let your mind run wild with worry. For anyone who’s been through this, how did you keep yourself grounded? I could really use some guidance right now.

@jq I'm right behind you, buddy. If someone knows of a slack group or similar I would love to join.
Thank you for advice, I really appreciate it. I honestly didn't expect to be here, not at my age. But it is what it is.
I'm sorry you're going through this. I know how you're feeling, I went through this before joining TRP.
Your network is your net worth...and will be your sanity while you're searching for your next opportunity.
Ask folks in your network for coffee or lunch meetups...do virtual meetings too.
Look up groups of interest on Meetup and similar sites, to find post-workday events.
Network with others who were laid off last week...when I got laid off from my last gig, someone created a Slack group that we used and it was really comforting for me to have that group to commiserate with...we were all over the country and would jump on a Google Meet regularly at first to keep some normalcy/connection.
Grab the book Never Search Alone from the library, there's also a group of the same name where you'll get support too.
Hope this helps, I wish you all the best!
There were some great posts here yesterday where people who have been there offered some tips. I'm not laid off yet, but expect to be as a lot of jobs in my role will be offshored. I am not looking forward to returning to work tomorrow under this thick cloud they imposed on us. Then there are rumors of more layoffs on Thursday. Someone said it may be a regular Thursday event. Just know you are not alone. People in various stages of association with that place are all trying to navigate this. People laid off later may need your guidance later as you move forward. Take care of yourself.
Sorry about that. Been through it. Best thing to do is keep busy.
Create your own schedule to fill the void of work, things that will better you. I’ve built a schedule of making sure I get up early, go to the gym, go to the library, learn something new, (like a coding language, or for a FINRA license (you can take the 65 and 3 w/o being sponsored) or whatever will help or expand your skillset), job search, work on your resume and LinkedIn.
You’ll find your day will go by much better and quicker, plus you’re being productive and will feel better. Look at this as an opportunity that you didn’t have before.
Best of luck to you and everyone else!
