Top talent and performers have been leaving for years. The true top performers left around the pivot time frames….. now it’s the top performers of the remaining… it’s all relative …

Next steps following layoffs are dangerous as you see remaining high performers jumping ship in record numbers . We know that High performers don't quit jobs. 

They quit...

• Pain in the a-s and highly incompetent bosses who reached due to licking quality
• Employee needs that never get addressed
• Money that keep changing (downwards)
• Lack if trust in leadership
• Lack of career growth
• Bad processes

When top talent quit, it's a sign of business stagnation and company downfall.

If you see GF , it has all the elements above. They do not need another layoff as soon company will be left with bunch of junks, and rotten eggs who will take the GF to bottom
