I'm not seeing any signs that a large-scale layoff of salaried employees similar to this past June is imminent. I have read the posts about PS, contractors and a few Ford salaried being terminated, but thoughts on when the next round of large-scale layoffs might occur. Seems like they might be waiting to see December 1 retirements and then figure out 2024 budgets and projects before doing anything, so maybe April 2024 will be the next round?

@jcm - are you going to share whatever it is you are smoking? If the past is any indicator of future behavior it will tell you that they will never be honest with employees about layoffs. You know how many times I heard announcements from the press/on the news prior to senior leadership saying a word? Layoff the sauce.
Next consultation firm was hired. It is certainly coming. Watching HR something is going on. They all sign NDA’s and are told to deny it or they get fired. Your best friend might not even tell you.

Every person I know that got laid off in all the rounds of layoffs, none of them ever got a bad review. Unless you know someone reliable that you can trust in upper management to get your layoff information from, your not going to see your layoff coming until your dead already. If your salaried now you have to view yourself as a contract employee. Ford no longer has loyalty to anyone. Just like a contractor you can be gone now within minutes.
The UAW left a lot of money on the negotiating table so there will be no layoffs.
Have some trust in our leaders?
They have a process that they’re supposed to follow. They beat it into our heads all the time to follow the Ford “process”.
The whole purpose of the performance review process is to let people know if they aren’t doing a good job or need to improve skills in certain areas. But in June, they threw all that out the window and just fired people seemingly at random regardless of their performance reviews.
No trust. They haven’t earned it.
We had two leadership Town Halls recently and one of them was focused on organizational changes. Now you are still bringing up imminent layoffs? Leadership did not mention one thing about separations.
Have some trust in our leaders that they tell us straight as in the past.
The people who DO know are in IT, security and shipping/receiving.
Shipping? At least in the old days. When pallets of banker boxes arrived on the receiving dock the folks in shipping would let us know.
It has been in the works for months. There are no 'signs' to read. It could be today, it could be 6 months from now.
The bottom line is that there is no short term end to the threat of a mass layoff here. Be ready. Be prepared. Have a plan.
I guess if you are a seasoned veteran employee you might know in advance. There's really no way to really find this out in my opinion unless you know someone in management or just know from previous experience. just to be safe, I'd say absolutely because when they aren't talking about layoffs, they are thinking about them, and when they tell you you are safe, you most definitely are not.
