Do the bare minimum. Avoid conflict. It’s not like this is the kind of company where relationships, office politics, or going the extra mile actually lead anywhere. Opportunities for advancement? Rare. Recognition? Even rarer.
Ignore the a--holes, whether they’re peers or higher up the chain. Always keep your eyes open for your next job. And whatever you do, don’t become that person who ends up carrying everyone else’s workload.
You’ll be fine. What’s the worst that could happen? You get laid off?
That’s coming either way, even if you went above and beyond, stayed late, and played the game. Don’t kid yourself. No one’s rewarding hard work or loyalty anymore.
