Thread regarding T. Rowe Price Group Inc. layoffs

Sigh…what now

I’ve been actively looking for a new role for the past 6 months, I read the writing on the wall and the time finally came (and more to come). I feel bad as someone who already wants to leave, yet wasn’t impacted. I truly feel for those who were let go all of a sudden, and probably thought they’d have a long career here. On a separate and more selfish note, I’ve been led to believe I’d be promoted by now and to ‘hang on’ for better capital times, and this news makes it clear that the firm can’t afford to do that now…nor bonuses possibly? Sigh.

@j4 But will they too be let go? It seems they are figuring out this new structure as they go, hence the little chunks of layoffs at a time.

@j0 Oh that's interesting information.
I was told by my recruiter that they had converted some of their own contractors placed there just last year.

@he they stopped converting people ages ago. The last time I heard of a conversion in my little sphere of work was maybe.... 5+ yrs ago.

I'm a non-associate, and I was hoping to be converted to FTE but with what's happened in the last week I'm not hopeful anymore.
