I reached out to a lawyer in 2019 during smart redesign when I had 28.5 years in to argue potentially age discrimination should they cut me. The message I got basically was that at this point they could do what they wanted. May have an argument if I was a little closer to retirement, say a couple of months. I did not get separated then (nor yesterday). Cost me $250 but stated he would see me for free if they did separate me.
If you feel you have a really good argument for being separated for unjust cause and you have concrete proof, it may be worth it. But not to review a package.
