@dp you can go to the enterprise reimagined website and the details about the VSP payout versus the ISP payout are on there. The two main differences are the 36 months of health insurance and the number of weeks that you will get paid for.

@hz the uncertainty aspect adds a lot more risk to my situation but I am confident in myself despite the external environment. I feel liberated and my mental health is already in a better place. My acceptance is a big "no confidence" vote in ELT and this week has only reinforced my conviction. Like another post said I am done drinking the Kool-aid and it definitely has a yellow tinge to it nowadays.

I can’t understand why they are so surprised more people didn’t opt into the VSP without a firm “Release Date”. I’m lucky enough to accept the VSP due to being close to retirement, but I have no idea if my last day will be 8/31/25 or 4/31/26. How is a leader (not near retirement age) with a family to support supposed to accept a VSP with that large unknown? And this surprises the Ivory Tower? Truly no idea what they are doing nor do they have a handle on reality.

I accepted the VSP after 25 years of blood sweat and tears they are PAYING ME. Call it what you want. I bought in for the longest time and took less pay to work someplace that I cared about. I see the VSP severance package as money they owe me!

@ek It's hard to say how to line yourself up for an ISP, but quiet quitting might be a tactical way to do it. If an ISP hits your area, how well your leader likes you personally will impact whether you are selected. Without severance, outright quitting brings a lot of risk so best to have your next opportunity lined up.

@em No golden parachute here. Turning in my partnership and betting on myself. You don't need to tear anyone else down if you're regretting not taking it. But, maybe I can give you a reference once you get the ISP because your leader doesn't like your attitude.

@ek If you're in an area that you believe is at risk for separations, and want to go, I would think most leaders would greatly appreciate someone saying they'd volunteer for it. It removes at least one hard decision for them.

@d5 , I regret it when I have several years to retire and met the Rule of 70. Miserable in my new role.....

Weighing my options.....

  1. Do I su-k it up?
  2. Do I find another position outside the firm and give notice?
  3. Would an ISP email come to me after I opted out of VSP?

Best of luck! I’m kind of jealous but didn’t get a VSP offer. What were the terms? Something like X weeks pay for every year worked? I assume they will give the same payout for the ISP so it would be helpful for the rest of us to know. Not that we have a choice at that point.

I am 1 of only 14 people in Finance who took the VSP. All these folks are going to be SEVERELY regretting their decision to turn down the VSP….especially after 8/31!
