Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Is Walmart going out of business in Houston ?

After 22 years as a store manager I decided to cash in. Stocks, profit share and said goodbye at the start of covid. And I am glad I did. Walmart is lacking leadership and talent that it is showing daily in the stores.

Recently went to pick up a few things and I was simply amazed at the instock levels througout fresh, paper, chemicles, dairy, 97 wall and the list goes on. COMPLETLY out of stock of everything. I thought it was just that store. So I went to three others and seen the exact same thing.

HEB, Kroger, Food Town and Fiesta had everything INSTOCK! No other grocer had those issues. 4298, 1103, 703, 1279

Definitely started to go downhill fast when they went to GWP/Teaming and did away with dept mgr. I was doing PinPoint in my old department and was blown away by how many had no sales since last April and May. Just sitting in the system with onhands. Never was like that with a Dept mgr.

Truth is on paper they think it creates more ownership with teaming. I see the complete opposite. These depts sit with no ownership and TL can't focus on their areas because Coaches are in such a panic the TL gets pulled out or their puppet string get pulled in another direction.

Facts. I've been with the company as a manger for almost 20 years and I've NEVER seen it this bad. The in-stock, the morale, the leadership, it's all bad....

Store standards have suffered for a long time. The minute Dept. Manager jobs were eliminated and the company went to Team Leads, Instock has suffered as well as store standards. The stores are so messy, unorganized, never clean, never in stock, there is merchandise laying all over the store and no departments are ever straightened. Walmart is trying to make more money, however, they treat employees like garbage. They say they LISTEN to their employees, hogwash. They don't care about employees. Employees are just a number to them. There are not enough employees to stock shelves. Shameful. I would rather shop at Target and pay a little more because Target is always in stock. Plus the employees are always friendly and happy to help. Unlike Walmart.

You call this a troll post but the facts are there. The supply chain is not effecting the other retailers like they are walmart. Was a smart move to cash in before the bottom does fall out with a deteriating business like Walmart.

Good leaders have left a once upon a time great company. And if this person left in hight of covid they where not penelized for an early withdrawels of 401k etc. Actually was a smart move.

Standards have been gone for a long time. I blame the streamlined structures.
